[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: South Korea

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both sim versions (MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024) and both the PC and Xbox platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

This week, we’re off to South Korea , the home of delicious foods like bulgogi, kimchi, and bibimbap and immensely popular global entertainment phenomena BTS, BLACKPINK, and Squid Game!

Just us for a relaxing and scenic flight between South Korea’s two largest cities, departing from the capital of Seoul and taking a plane to Busan. The flight will include several touch & go landings en route.

MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC can download the .pln file here:

MSFS 2024 Pilots on both PC and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at RKSS. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Beechcraft Bonanza, Beechcraft Baron, Cirrus SR22T, Diamond DA40, Diamond DA62, or any other plane of your choice with a cruise speed of 140+ knots.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

I tried to join this flight but I wasn’t able to see anybody else. I was on the Southeast Asia server. I was there at the right time because I was monitoring the twitch stream (interesting discussion) but I was all alone on the tarmac. Could it be because I am on the 2020 SU16 beta flight? What else might be the problem?

Hello @GlitteryGecko5,

Yes, the beta builds have a separate multiplayer environment from the regular release builds. It’s possible you were the only person taking part in today’s flight who was using MSFS 2020 SU16 beta.

Thanks Seedy, I thought that might be it. Well I enjoyed the flight although the company was sparse. And I did enjoy the accompanying commentary by you and Joe. I am impressed by the preparation that you do for these flights. I hope to make a future Friday flight where I will have some company!
