October 22 is recognized in Australia :australia: as “Wombat Day”, a day to celebrate conservation of these adorable marsupials and their natural habitat. Dating back to the first Wombat Day in 2005, the traditional way to celebrate is to eat chocolate (typically baked into a Wombat Cake or Wombat fudge) and wine gums, so be sure to prep appropriately! Accordingly, Community Fly-In Friday this week will take us back to the Land Down Under for a flight over the Australian Outback, culminating with our arrival at Uluru, one of Australia’s most distinctive natural landmarks.

Pilots on PC can download the .pln file here:

This is meant to be a fun and informal flight. Everybody is welcome, no matter the amount of experience.

Wombat Day… Wombats perfectly edible if grilled.

See you all there in the skies! Or at least on my NXI screen as I attempt to keep up with you all …in yet another of my super slow airplanes I always seem to pick…

5:30AM for us actual wombats. Good job we’re nocturnal eh? Still at least it means you’ve technically got the right day.

Because I have not the slightest idea how to somehow connect or combine my Fenix with a wombat… here is a cute wombat video:

Aw what could be more cute than cute animals! Yesterday was sloth day, today we have the more proactive wombat in the spotlight.
