Iâm aware of how it works and your attempt to justify it makes no sense.
Even if a button were used to simulate the finger lifts, the actual afterburner power is still controlled by the upper range of the throttle. Itâs not something which is simply switched on and off.
In the real aircraft (or C/D Hornet at any rate) the finger lift lockout is only engaged with weight on wheels. When airborne, thereâs simply a detent. My Warthog throttle has a detent, as do other similar devices. Buttons simply shouldnât be required.

Bug Report: The new Top Gun update does not test to see whether the F18 is already installed. If the F18 is not already installed â as it wasnât on my machine because I like to conserve disk space â the new Top Gun software immediately crashes to desktop 100% of the time when you attempt to fly. Also, the countdown text â 3,2,1, Go â is not erased when new characters are added. The numerals and letters are accumulated and piled together on top of each other into an ugly mess which obscures the plane and scenery.

but we need the carriers to be able to move. currently the mods cant make them move.

Does anyone how to power on the remaining two engines? (engine number 3 and engine number 4) on the Experiential Darkstar? Max altitude is 150,000 Ft, according to the specifications. I donât think you can reach that high on just two engines. I was unable to go above 55 thousand Ft, Darkstar would stall.

I can see that some people will really enjoy thisâŠgood on them I say, but personally itâs not what I want from a flight simulator.

I have just added it - looks good but the low level challenge started with a big font showing a countdown. Then the word âgoâ which covers a fair bit of screen real estate in the centre. It didnât go away making flying low almost impossible. I am now trying it after a sim restart. No - its still there! Only way to see half way properly is to use 3rd person view. Even then:

Iâm out of town for work and wonât be able to try the update until the weekend; what do they ask you to do in the low flight activities?
Also wondering the same thing. I had a thought that binding âtoggle engine 3 masterâ and âToggle engine 4 masterâ to a key would do something, but it didnât. Also tried turning on AI piloting to see if that would trigger something, and nope.
Seems only engine 1 and engine 2 will start when using âauto start engineâ.

I LOVE this DLC. The best yet!! All the challenges are top notch. Really like the ghost plane in the low altitude challenges. The DarkStar Aircraft is insane. Even the electronic sounds in the cockpit in the Darstar are futuristic. Frickin amazing. Thank you Asobo!

Also my opinion. The tension and drama created through the music is absolutely stunning and DarkStar Challenge is another level of immersion. Also take in count this is FREE! All the moaners on much too high level just go away!

Iâm trying to figure out the same. At first i too couldnât get past 50k. But i discovered that I THINK once youâre at a certain speed you flick on the scram enable and thatâs when it ignites the rest and you can then go up to 150
Actually Iâm watching the dev stream and they are pointing out supersonic transition, so i believe Iâm correct.

My first try I had trouble taking off. Tried it in default setup at a forces airbase and it worked great. Went back to the Stratosphere challenge and it worked flawlessly. Flew it up to 130K feet. You need to get your speed up to M3 at least to engage the scramjet engines. Loving it!!

Flying with a friend at presemt who is stuck with the music from Top Gun. Anybody know a quick way of turning it off? Thanks in advance.
Exactly the same issue with â3, 2, 1, GOâ thing here. Except of this glitch a lot of fun with this DLS so far!
