Anything on reflections? Had to turn them off in VR they’re bad.
Sometimes things need its time to be sorted out. I appreciate the official statement and hope that people are about calming down a bit. Thank you for giving us a signal that problems are being investigated and solved in the background. Thank you.
A very reassuring announcement.
I am not a developer, but my guess about adding/increasing more memory for PC usage will take longer than a couple of days to fix.
That list of fixes looks good to me. Thanks for finally acknowledging the issues and working on fixes. Let’s hope they actually fix these things and not need more patches for the patch.
I don’t use VR and anti-aliasing is my single biggest issue at the moment, with LOD pop-in a close second
what about the Live/AI traffic model matching? Aerosoft has canceled their modelmatching mod because of the sdk updates. can we make it possible again please?
Thank you, thats going fast at Asobo, all of the stuff is addressed, and we only can sit back and wait. Glad to here, we get back everything as before and even more!
I dont think we miss anything of less memory usage. CPU memory is for functions and not visual effects.
Hey @Jummivana - sorry for the additional ping, but does Asobo anticipate the “altitude bug” for VATSIM (and other 3rd party tools) will be fixed in this upcoming patch on Friday? Or will it be a later time?
- ATC Incorrect Altitude – The pressure altitude has been brought in line with the new altimeter simulation and ATC should no longer ask you to get to your current altitude if you’re already there. This is addressed in the hotfix. Further improvements to the altimeter and ambient pressure system will be coming in World Update 6.
My guess is this will take more time, and they can only get to so many things. Not that it’s not important, but just my guess.
Really like it how you are Introducing sliders for various graphical elements. Definitely the way forwards!
Glad to hear some fixes are coming soon, appreciate the hard work!
Only major issue I have with the sim at the moment is multiplayer. Players whom are close to me will disappear then re-appear on my screen over and over again. Players whom are 80+ miles away, nameplates always show on my screen. Makes it very hard to fly with friends on multiplayer/ “All players”
Anyone else have this issue?
Really great to hear news of a hotfix coming soon.
Could you guys also take a look at flight hours being incorrect/the logbook becoming empty randomly? Its been happening with people since last year and we would love a fix for it. Our flight hours could be based on our flight time in seconds and not the logbook?
Thank you for keeping in touch with the community!
I agree, but what I’m suggesting is not more complex than adding a brightness slider:
-
Gama slider: this is just adjusting the Pixel Shader Tone Mapper values already there, and/or the game linear to sRGB conversion. Nothing really complex here from a pixel shader code perspective. Look for example how it was easy to do it yourself with XP11 and what this “Tone Mapper” is about typically
-
Brightness slider: my suggestion is that it might prove being more useful controlling white clipping only, instead of controlling the overall brightness like on a TV. This is related to the above slider of course.
-
CAS Sharpen slider: the AMD CAS Shader is already coded with a sharpening strength value, but FS2020 doesn’t give access to it because it is hard-coded in the game. The idea is just to let the user adjusting this value which is already in there in the shader code. Nothing to develop but just offering a UI slider and binding the uniform/constant.
Having said this, I’m thrilled with the announcement of course, and these are very small suggestions to maybe making it slightly better with minimal dev time.
This latest communication from Jummivana is a ray of sunshine. Thank you so much. I can also happily report that FBW’s latest Stable Release 0.6.2 works well in my case under SU5 and its first hotfix.
Totally agree. Selfishly, I also want these for HDR as to me, HDR needs a lot of improvement and we need sliders to adjust gamma and white balance, etc.
That was obvious to me the PC side will have more option\capability then the Xbox, it was just question to give them time, PC are always innovating on tech fast each years, it’s not console fixed.
You can also do that with your GPU settings, there you can tune your image even better than anywhere else.
@K3HrN not in VR, and not without reducing the sampling resolution… (aka banding)
