I tried everything today to opt out of beta…. I can’t. I did everything the manual said, but I doesn’t let me opt out.
It’s not reinstalling the normal version after I opt out.
So what should I do?
The other question I have, is it ok to tweak the brightness of the landing light?

Hi. I did do a stupid mistake when registering for this event (first time). I want to use the C172 (G1000) instead of the DA40. Will it still be ok to change

No, you can set it brighter in Dev mode, save it, then leave Dev Mode.
Yeah, I don’t think we’re going to allow tweaking with variables in Dev Mode, sorry.

I did. No help. We have to be prepared that it is not an option to revert back to pre beta. I spend several costly (because of my approach run) hours yesterday trying and the result is that I am back on 1.21.18 without partaking in de beta in the insider hub.
I don’t want to change anything anymore in fear that I will break something so close to the event.

I tried everything. I also tried every tip form the other group for leaving the beta. It still doesn’t work.
From the version number I’m still in .18. So still in the beta.
And are you also opted out from insider? I have the opt-in button (or whatever the name in English is (apparently it’s Join)) available. So technically I have opted out. The software version did not change however.

I press the Opt out button.
Then it showed me “pending” and then that I‘be left the beta.
If I go back to the insider hub, I also have the button to join the beta again. So technically I’m out of the beta.
Test flight 35 minutes in and yet another CTD. Not looking too good, maybe I need to plan a save point landing once an hour or something.
That’s exactly what I have done on every previous endurance race. I do a touch & go checkpoint every 50-70ish minutes and turn it into a full stop for refueling if my tanks are below 25%.
Yeah I was thinking of pushing it for at least two hours at a time… Maybe one hour legs is not such a bad idea.
Also, any advice on how to get Simair back logging my flight after CTD? I tried restarting the sim for the second time, logging out and restarting the Simair client and logging out from the site and clearing my browser, but I couldn’t get it to work. I haven’t tried rebooting my PC yet but I hope there would be some other way to fix it. I remember the same issue has occured on previous races too.
You need to do a full exit and restart of the Simair client (right-click in your system tray and click “Exit”) before re-launching MSFS.
Just checking to see if we can use a EFB app link like Foreflight or if that is considered a mod.
Yeah, that’s fine, as is taking advantage of apps like LittleNavMap or similar. Anything that mods MSFS itself is banned, but external tools are permitted.
