[OFFICIAL POLL] Connection Problems? [16 April 2022 and ongoing]

Happened to me the last two days in Italy too.

I Just got disconnected from online services within the sim, so i tried to get on the forum and that seemed to be down too a i just got a white page stating they would investigate the problem.

The issue here is, i just spent half +/- an hour prepping my aircraft and was just starting my taxi out to the runway and the disconnect caused my plane to crash apparently by damaging the landing gear. I had literally just pushed the throttle forward to start moving after being pushed back so was only doing 1 or 2 mph if even that.

Are they having ongoing issues, is it worth starting again or waiting till whatever is going on is fixed. As there seems to be no service status page to check How are supposed to know if it’s worth wasting the time to prep another flight?

EDIT: while posting this thread i got an page saying there was a connection problem so i guess it’s not over yet.

According to this, albeit manual service page - investigations are apparently in progress.

Whatever it is seems to be affecting the website as well, I keep seeing a page that says can’t do that right now or something along those lines.

The errors on this forum are most likely temporary performance issues, not related directly to the MSFS online services.

Unless all of Microsoft is under attack right now…

Personal Observations

On heavy traffic days (usually day of a release) or during forum reorganization, the Board can be performing slowly or returning some errors. As noted by CM Olie in an announcement earlier today, the latter is happening for Community Support categories. The Board will settle down and be back to normal once that work is done.

noted @CasualClick - thanks for your input

What about the sim though? It’s been unusable for days now.

I believe they’re looking into it. I have no insights as I’m not part of the Dev or Support Teams.

Is there a point in our timeline when we stop getting any anxiety every time we fly?

I was getting constant disconnects this morning, it was so bad I just gave up and closed the sim! I wasn’t getting low bandwidth messages…

Since it is affecting most of us (including me - east coast Australia) I wonder if it is anything to do with Solar Flares…

"For the second time in days, the sun hurled a large, X-class flare at Earth overnight Tuesday (April 19) and Wednesday (April 20), reportedly causing radio blackouts in Australia, the Western Pacific and eastern Asia. SpaceWeather.com reports 19 flares overall, including five medium-class explosions.

There’s likely more action in store, too. Imagery from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory shows the large sunspot group AR2993-94, ready to rotate into firing range of Earth. ā€œThe fusillade is likely to continue,ā€ SpaceWeather.com said of the solar activity."

hello Asobo, why is it taking so long to fix this problem ? cant be that hard for a big company as Asobo/microsoft. i’m getting really tired of this problem. maybe u can get me a 120 dollar refund maybe ?

Hello everyone, the team is aware of the issue and is currently investigating.
As soon as have an ETA for the fix, you will be informed.

Have got the very same problem, but it goes back more than a month or so. What i do is just leave the warning on the screen without clicking on anything, the message goes away and i stay connected - most of the time anyway. But it is annoying. Maybe it’s a server issue or something. I’m on a 200mbit fiber (more than enough bandwidth) and never used to have issues like this. I wouldn’t be surprised if this error also has something to do with some of the CTD’s???

Thank you @OlieTsubasa443, please do share what the cause is, if you are able - I appreciate the communication, not solely if it is fixed later.

When more details - about (this) issue(s) are shared, the understanding and patience for the work that goes into resolving more complicated issues might be greater.

Same here now. Bing disconnect, all terrain scenery disappear. My speedtest 600MBps (dw/up)

I’m getting connectivity warnings in the sim so I went to the status page and it shows all items as ā€˜Investigating’.

However, I am missing a time of last update, so I do not know if the information shown there is correct or simply not updated.

2 questions:

  • Is the information shown on the status page up-to-date?
  • Are there any known network issues with the sim?

I’m guessing it’s outdated, but I’d love to have someone from MSAsobo come on to counter that. Notice on the page the date of ā€˜Jan 4’ on the upper right. Does that mean that the thread was created Jan 4, or does that mean it was the last time it was updated? Either way, at best it’s misleading and at worst it’s wrong information. But note that it also states that Online features status are manually updated, and there have been only five edits since Jan 4. Only a handful of interruptions since then? Unlikely.
