Okay, who else on here had this version of MSFS

My very first flight sim was on the ZX81 (my first computer!).

Remember we got so used to cd drive reading sounds also. You knew when a badly scratched disk was no longer able to install or run.
I was really bad about storing CDs…always kept them in shoeboxes instead of something more protective. My Flight Simulator 98 disks went through hell!:joy:

Sublogic on C64 for me as well. Got it just after getting my private ticket. I’ve been livin’ the simulation dream since!

I think I still have my copy packed away somewhere, along with some fond memories.

Yup, it was the first PC version I had, and it looked and felt like a giant leap beyond the Commodore 64 version I started with.

20 years ago my wife made me throw out my Atari ST 1024 together with all the peripherals and accumulated software floppies. We have been at loggerheads ever since about this. Can’t remember what version FS that was but I had an expansion disk which had the Indianapolis oval in it and I used to fly along it trying not to crash into it. Because you really couldn’t tell by sight how far above it you were.

But yeah, Chicago, and the airport by the lake, what was it called… Miegs or something? I once took of in a 747 from there and ended up crashing into the lake. Too many beers! But that was in FS98 (I think) on a PC.

I’ll have you know I AM working on growing up.

After my ventures with a ZX81, my next venture was on an Amiga with Airbus 320. After that I was on A PC and Sublogic.

I started on that version! I was running it on an EGA green screen, and didn’t know the first ■■■■ thing about flying a plane at that time. Even flew with my keyboard, as I didn’t even own a mouse.

But I’m only middle-aged!! Assuming it’s the middle of 102. But considering I’m planning to live to be 113, sounds about right. Lately I’ve been wondering if I really want to, though, when my old lady checks out, I think I’ll be right behind her… And I really hope she does go first, I almost checked out myself about this time last year, and I don’t want to put her through the real thing. A close call was horrific enough, and it wasn’t even the first time it happened. I’ll be the one to bear that burden, even though it will break me.

Sorry, I was not intending to get that real with this post…

I had every version since 1988, DOS and 5 1/4 floppies if I remember correctly, but these are the only ones that are still lurking on my shelf.

Yeah but back then the stutters were insert disk #3 for Atlanta Scenery … ;p

That’s the first game I played online, dial up, direct connection. Fun times. We could not talk while flying since the phone was tied up, and no chat programs.
