Good morning,
More than a week after the release of the game it is still practically impossible for me to launch the simulator
Why display a video that takes up a lot of computer resources for a loading screen?
A bar with a few scrolling photos would have been more than sufficient
Do you know that most of the players are Alt+tabing while the program load ?
Are there people thinking at Microsoft?
I managed to launch it 3 times otherwise the loading remains stuck most of the time at 68%
I am in Paris in France and I think I was patient enough to be able to use your product
One more negative note on Steam since apparently you are not able to run your simulator more than a week after its launch
I had the same problem, with loading stuck at 68%. After almost a week of not getting into the sim, I think that I have resolved it by completely removing all traces of the sim (including the hidden folders that normally remain when you uninstall), then reinstalling. Since doing this, I have been able to get into the sim about five times, so the solution seems to work, in the short term, at least.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Why so slow to load every time
Takes my game over 30mins to go from desktop to menu.
Yesterday I started the process before doing some household chores.
Went back and was on the main menu, started a flight to find my Hotas 4 controls mapping had been reset. Back to menu and redo them.
Start flight, game crashed to desktop.
Start game again, head for some more chores for 30 mins. Come back and restart flight, control mapping reset again, closed game and went to bed early.
This game is amazing when it works, but it’s not finished and an absolute joke.
This is exactly what happens to me. Unbelievable!
Yesterday i managed to load the game
I turned my internet off then launch the game with steam, then turned on internet and the game load pretty fast
I have no idea if it will load again today
Once in game in career mode it tooks like 10-20 mins to load each mission…
they are working on it… as of today, most people are able to enter the game (bugs inside the game are another story)
but granted, yes, some folks are still locked outside and still cant load the sim
they think they have traced it to 2020 incompatible addons which they will disable shortly (maybe they already did) to rule out that problem
if you were not a user of 2020, so, your 2020 addons are non existant, and you still can’t load the sim, its possible something else is happening here
Thank you for your message
I am fs2020 user with more than 1tb add on in community folder (on a different drive than fs2024 installation)
I am not sure this could be the problem since i managed to load fs2024 many times.
I will do more tests tonight when i’ll be back home
Same here. I’m in Paris, using th Xbox pass on my PC and my game gets eternally stuck on 68%. Yesterday I managed to get it to start 1/5 tiles I launched it, otherwise it just hung at 68% for hours before I alt+F4. Today I haven’t even been able to launch it once. It’s not even continuously downloading data, it spikes for a second and then stops altogether, and then starts again for a second and then stops.
The career mode isn’t playable for me either, the first cutscenes just bugs out after chosing the airport and forces me to Alt+F4
One thing that you can try doing that just got me past the big where it sits at 68% is to resync your PC’s clock. I’ve tried everything so far (uninstalling, etc) and this worked 1st time. I’ll try again tomorrow to see if it fixes it.
You have data that proves this, of course?
hello, they have disabled the 2020 scenery addons, are you still locked out of the game?
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t without changing anything.
I am actually stuck at 97%for like 20 mins with this message “Loading unusually long: log saved to report-loading.toml”
It might be a coincidence but every time when I’ve tried to launch the game after having resynced the PC’s clock (so only 2/3 times), it’s launched more or less perfectly (it gets stuck at “unusually long loading time” for a while sometimes and then it launches). I’ll keep on trying to launch like this and report back during the week.
This is very infuriating as it takes me 20 to 30 minutes every time I start the sim. A few days ago it loaded up in about 3 to 5 minutes twice in a row. I thought Microsoft had figured something out. False hopes. I use a high end PC and My 2020 sim is on another drive. Hope someone somewhere is working on fixes for this mess. I know I am at least 1 of 5000 other people that paid for the LCE. Not Happy!
Wow. I’ve been monitoring FS2024 since it came out and am not touching it for the time being.
I had wanted to and eventually will purchase the Aviator edition but will hold off for a while. At least until after the Dec 9 updates are well digested and possibly well into 2025, depending on how it behaves and what fixes are planned.
I would love if PC users could download more content so that less has to be streamed, which would be less strain on both MS servers and everything in between. I was part of Tech Alpha and it definitely has A TON of potential after they iron the issues out.
They also need to port over the default HOTAS/joystick configs from FS2020 - many don’t want to spend hours fiddling with bindings. I flew with keyboard in Tech Alpha, as I could not get my HOTAS to work. I had thought that was just a feature that was left out since it was a Tech Alpha and for surely that would be included in the full release.
For now, I will enjoy FS2020 and watch from afar, waiting patiently.
Yeah they really do need to port the default settings.
I’m just using my Xbox controller, I can’t find the mental energy to map my Hotas again and again.
The game just randomly resets them to default, which is no buttons or axis mapped.
Nothing has been fixed with the loading times on my end. Still getting stuck at 68% and I’m only very rarely able to get past it (even when resyncing my PC’s clock). It’s incredibly annoying and makes me just not want to try starting the game
You can try setting 1.1.1.1 as dns:
- Select the Start menu > Settings.
- On Network and Internet, select Change Adapter Options.
- Right-click on the Ethernet or Wi-Fi network you are connected to and select Properties.
- Choose Internet Protocol Version 4.
- Select Properties > Use the following DNS server addresses.
I already am on IPv4 sadly
