Online Flight Planner Intermittently Not Saving Flight Plans

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Using the online flight planner (https://planner.flightsimulator.com/), I am sometimes unable to save my flight plan. I’ll select my aircraft, enter my route, click the Save button at the bottom, enter a name for the flight plan, and click Save; a message “Could Not Save Flight Plan” appears in the top-right of the window.

Looking at the developer console, it looks like the call being made to https://planner.flightsimulator.com/api/v1/flightplans is throwing a 400 error, but of course, I don’t know why.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Intermittent - I have yet to determine why I’m sometimes able to save a flight plan via the online tool and why other times it doesn’t work.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Go to online planner (https://planner.flightsimulator.com/). Log in, if not already.
  2. Select an aircraft.
  3. Pick a departure and destination, route, etc.
  4. At the bottom of the window, click the Save button.
  5. Enter a name for the flight plan (optional).
  6. Click Save new plan.

I’m having the same problem, on both Windows 11 with Edge and MacOS with Safari or Chrome.

• This problem occurs frequently on XBOX series X.

  • Yes, Using the MS Edge Browser / Win10
    after hitting Save in “Save flight plan” dialog i get an error in the upper right corner “Could not save flight plan”

  • same error after deleting older flightplans (ensure not hitting a possible max number)
  • same error after creating different new ones (ensure not having an issue with a specific Origin, Destination or Plane)

Update 1:

  • The Problem do not exist with a Firefox Browser / Win10 !
    I will do further tests …

Update 2:
In my case the Problem could be solved by completly deleting ALL! Cached data from MS Edge.

Unable to save a flight plan using the planner for three days now. Multiple attempts with different file names and still no luck.
Is anyone else having this problem.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

• The flight time now shows the distance in nm in negative plus a (seemingly random)negative minutes, then sends the same error

I don’t know if this is relevant but my previous flights (which I deleted because I thought it could be a memory issue) seemingly showed a normal flight time

Same issue for me today, 4/26/25. I saw no error message when saving a flight plan, but I could not find the plan afterward to load. I used the Edge browser on a PC that did not have MSFS 2024 installed. Also replicated this on my flight sim PC.

• I have found that if you give the average fuel burn zero (0) it will save. It’s only when I put a value greater than zero in there that it does not save.

I have experienced this consistent failure to save problem and confirm that the fuel burn figure set to zero (0) will enable a successful save. Thanks for the tip!
