same issue here, went back to previous release, no issues there.
You’re using the Oculus version. Make sure you download OC from the correct branch: Files · openxr · Campbell Suter (ZNix) / OpenComposite · GitLab
I now have many reports of HAGS off solving the performance regression.
Can you try to compare apple to apple? Aka what is the number with 1.1.0 HAGS off?
Thanks!
Hags seems to be the problem. I turned it off restarted computer jumped into fs2020 with version 1.1.2 and fps back to normal.
Thanks for the quick fix folks
Toolkit 1.1.0:
With HAGS=ON - WMR Ovly=44.5 FPS, Toolkit Ovly=45 FPS
With HAGS=OFF - WMR Ovly=43.5 FPS, Toolkit Ovly=44 FPS
Thanks. I hardly see how 1.1.2 could make such a huge difference since it doesnt really have any change aside from the menu.
Best to do now is to get full diagnostics like done in the post about yours (ie full overlays details):
Good one!
Indeed I was, got the right one now.
Managed to launch ETS2, but… everything looks like 2D on 3D, difficult to put into words, like those 2D cartoons with layers of objects that appears to be 3D.
Centering the view, doesn’t work as expected.
Not looking too good. Also the OpenXR menu is upside down and mirrored.
I know this is more than off-topic, but any help to get it running will be very much appreciated.
Cheers.
For ETS2, make sure you have an opencomposite.ini file with invertUsingShaders=true in steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64
For the inverted menu, 2 options here:
-
Using OpenXR Toolkit version lower than 1.1.2, you need this
invertUsingShaders=true
as mentioned -
Using OpenXR Toolkit version 1.1.2, you dont need that line but NIS/FSR sort of broken
Not sure about this 2D thing, honestly better ask on Discord than here.
Trying to work through the HAGS/performance issue now.
Anybody having the performance issue (significant FPS drop when upgrading OpenXR Toolkit from 1.1.0 to 1.1.2) with HAGS on Windows 11? I could confirm it on Windows 10, but I’m also trying to get more data about Windows 11.
If you’re not having the performance drop issue, please don’t reply to this.
If you’re having HAGS performance issues outside of OpenXR Toolkit 1.1.2, please don’t reply to this.
Thanks.
Hello, my english is not good sorry. I have the FPS drops using Windows 11 reverb G2, got the bubble menu effect. I will try your trick and turn HAGS off and let you know if it’s better. Thank you.
FM
By disabling HAGS I can now eliminate the menu bubble effect by stopping and restarting VR. Performance remains the same.
Reverb G2 and Win 11
Here are screenshots as requested - On Windows 11:
- Toolkit 1.1.0 HAGS Off
- Toolkit 1.1.0 HAGS On
- Toolkit 1.1.2 HAGS Off
- Toolkit 1.1.2 HAGS On
Hope this helps you!
Thanks.
From your screenshots, I’m seeing the same between 1.1.0 HAGS off and 1.1.2 HAGS off, which is as expected. In other words, I’m seeing no issue.
It’s also interesting to see that NIS/FSR (whichever one you are using) post processing (Sorry, I misread and mixed up pst
and scl
) is 7 times slower to run with HAGS on (hence I still recommend HAGS off!).
EDIT: From your screenshots, it looks like your HAGS off test case has NIS or FSR enabled, while HAGS on test does not (scl GPU
is 0). So it’s hard to compare, but as far as I’m concerned, I still see no issue.
Just to close the loop here the issue was operator error
thanks for such an amazing utility.
I will recehck. FYI, I did not check, but FSR was enabled before I took any screenshots and the only thing I did was set HAGS On and Off then change versions of Toolkit and do the same. I did not recheck FSR in the on-screen menu - just assumed it remained enabled. Thanks!
An update on the wobble issue: I think it’s a WMR runtime issue (so to fix in my other job ) but I think I have a very quick and easy workaround I can get done very soon.
EDIT: Confirmed, I have a 1-line workaround for this issue.
EDIT2: And also found the bug in the WMR runtime itself.
You ARE the man!!!
yes i’m having the same effects on Win11
