Since nobody seemed to have opened a topic about the above, here are some of my impressions:
Quite detailed, no big hit on performance, blends perfectly with PG, BUT I am missing a little bit such as the area around the European Central Bank - the buildings here were flattened and now you only see a 2D Bing maps image as opposed to even an autogen building, takes a little immersion away. Overall good for the price IMO
I wanted to raise this question since nobody seems to have asked this.
I have the ORBX addon. When in drone mode exploring the city all is fine and dandy. But when I get close to the A apron of EDDF stutterfest begins.
I typically have performance issues with EDDF unlike any other other airport - not even KATL (I got a RTX3080, 32G RAM and a 5600X), but when I load in the scenery fps drop from around 28fps to 18fps.
Anyone else seeing this issue?
Have you tried turning AI traffic off and seeing if this makes a difference?
I actually never fly with AI traffic. Only if I deactivate the ORBX scenery the performance improves considerably
It’s the airport. Too many assets I think.
This was also happening in KJFK and LFPG. But those two seem to be fixed in past updates. Hopefully EDDF is next to improve.

After WU6 what happens to scenes like Frankfurt from Orbx? Do I have to uninstall and reinstall it? Thank you for your advice.
It depends on whether the new WU6 scenery clashes with the Orbx scenery or not. It may work just fine, or it may not. Anything anyone says otherwise is a guess. There’s no way to know until after WU6 drops and you take a look for yourself.
There is a chance that these need an update. I had objects tripled after the Northern European update, but was fixed quickly by the scenery designer shortly afterwards.
I have Neuschwanstein Castle in my sim, no idea from where.. it looks a lot better than what they previewed in the short clip. A lot will be weird for a while I guess just as with every other world update.
It came with the sim last year. To me it looks like the new one will be higher detail though
I bought the Frankfurt City Landmark Pack a few months ago, I’m wondering if it’s better to deinstall the pack and only use the updated photogrammetry from World Update 6?
Or does it make sense to still use the pack?
Not 100% sure, but to me it looks like the pack has been integrated into the base sim (along with the new photogrammerty). I was looking to buy it a couple of weeks ago and it had been pulled by Orbx, so not for sale anymore.
Yesterday I did a flight over Frankfurt post-update and there are a ton of landmarks that look like they come straight out the screenshots Orbx had posted for their product.
Since you have the package, maybe make a comparison of Frankfurt with and without it installed - you’re certainly in a better position than me to judge if the entire package has been included in the sim or not.
Can’t confirm that. Just started ORBX Central and the Frankfurt City Pack is still there for sale at AU$ 16.22
Yeah, it’s in my central too. Now add it to cart and try to buy it - you’ll get an error.
Also, look on Orbxdirect (web) and you won’t find it anymore.

Ok guys, I tested it and you don’t have to worry because ‘‘you can’t buy it’’.
I installed the City pack and the result was one giant tower building:
So you are not missing out. And I also believe the WU6 version does have the OrbX buildings ‘‘sponsored’’ for free. That was the last time I’m gonna buy any OrbX city pack.
But I’m happy, my hometown got an photogrammetry update.
Is this really true? With Orbx supplying some buildings to WU6 from the Frankfurt pack? That really sucks if it’s true. Source?
