Overall Forum Postings

There seem to be less and less NEW postings lately. Is there a reason???

Summer for most of the users. That always slows things down.

I check the boards every day, so seasons are irrelevant to me. I think it’s beause there’s not much to talk about. People have learned what they’ve needed to know, and nothing new and exciting (to many users) has come out lately. So unless someone has a specific problem that they need help with, they see no reason to post.

Honestly it has been very slow for months…not just this summer.

As mentioned, this comes up every year…

Seasonal in terms of both actual season (summer) and with respects to the sim life cycle. Nothing new / ground breaking going on, just casual chat and a few people looking for help.

All heck breaks loose when there’s a major update, announcement, etc…

We’re just in the lull.

I tend to post much more often on AVSIM due to the censorship on this forum. MS don’t seem to like or accept criticism either.

best thing on the forum is the what people have done in the sim today thread. fantastic seeing what people are flying and where and why etc

I find that there’s a core of self-proclaimed experts that all apparently have very high end expensive machines that daily post about the same complaints over and over while I believe a very large core of us come onto here to see if something new and exciting has dropped while we go out, fly, and enjoy ourselves. Almost none of these “experts” are gaming developers or hardware engineers and I give very little credence to their advise nor do I consider their experiences to be valid to my own. Personally, I’ve seen vast improvements to the sim since its inception with just a few minor burps along the way. I think in many ways the silence we get from Asobo leadership on some of these “vital issues” is simply because they know opening that can of worms will not bring rational debate but simply add fuel to the fire.

Hi @cianpars

I’m sorry to hear that you feel the MSFS forums isn’t a place where you can post your criticism. These forums will always be a place where feedback of both a positive and negative nature is welcome, so long as it remains constructive in nature, and in accordance with our Code of Conduct. These rules are in place to create a safe forum space for all users within our community. We never censor opinions of a negative nature, so long as these posts adhere to our Code of Conduct.

If you have any concerns regarding moderation actions, please feel free to send a message my way so that I can review for you.

Thanks

Or customers are tired of reporting bugs and increasing short comings of the platforms that don’t lead to any improvements?

Seriously, to state that there have not been improvements since this sim has launched is absolutely not true. While forum rules state you are entitled to your opinion, those same rules prevent people from pointing out much of the divisiveness and flat out misinformation. I could compile a pages long list of things that have been improved and addressed. These are the types of posts with inflammatory rhetoric that cause many of us to just remain silent.

How many hundreds of issues you want to be listed that have been discussed here and have been changed? It’s silly to say that posting here makes no sense.

PDMG is active here because it is by far the most used forum for console simmers, and our own forums slow down about equally to these forums. Same with sales, high heat means low sales. The best we can have is a bank holiday with rain in Western Europe and both coasts in the US.

I think a lot of decisions as to what is good and bad are somewhat arbitrary. I like this forum a lot but the editors seem to stop postings just when the conversation is getting interesting. I don’t think there are many people who don’t like this forum, just some more “tactful” editing might be nice. FWIW

Hi @FLIGHTJOX

Thanks for your feedback firstly. Regarding the sentiment about our moderation team stopping conversations, this is only ever done when the comments within a topic begin to divert from the original topic post and conversation line, or when posts continually fail to adhere to the Code of Conduct despite numerous inline reminders. While we understand that the conversation may be becoming “interesting” in your opinion, we do ask that users stick to the simple rules outlined in our Code of Conduct to keep these forums a safe space for all users as mentioned above.

If you do feel like there have been over-zealous closing of conversations on the forums, please feel free to drop me a DM so that I can take a closer look for you.

Thanks

I appreciate that PMDG maintains a presence here, even though they have their own very active forums.

I personaly had the most negative experience on that site that I’ve had on any internet forum, ever. The fair and even-handed application of standards of conduct on this forum are a relief, frankly, from what goes on elsewhere.

Amen to that. What I appreciate most is that console and cloud users are respected here. In many other places they are looked down on.

No one disrespect console and cloudusers here by my opinion. As a PC user I don’t respect downgrades what so ever. The PC community simply perhaps are tired of this.
