This looks interesting. I don’t have any Nemeth products.
Just purchased it and followed that purchase up with an email to their team which hopefully will result in multiple fixes. As follows:
Ground Handling - The nose wheel animation seems to not fully reflect the rudder pedal position, causing the aircraft to look like it is sliding around on the ground when turning at low speeds.
Ground Handling 2 - The aircraft picks up speed on the ground at idle.
Center of Gravity - with just a pilot and copilot the CG is well out of position and when moving it manually the aircraft tilts backwards. It seems to be out of position by default.
Prop Levers - They move but seem to have zero effect on gauges or in flight on prop speed.
Sounds - extremely quiet. Can the interior and especially exterior sound volume be increased significantly?
GPS - The GNS430 is illuminated with green labels (as if at night) even during the day with the battery off. Can the GPS letters be illuminated in accordance with panel lighting? NOTE: By manually editing the panel.cfg, the Working Title (WT) GNS430 seems to work just fine too.
Yeah I bought it at midday today , +1 to all those issues, one of I’ve noticed is the controls will never fully deflect and it’s delayed… any slight gust of wind or turbulence and the plane will suddenly hit a 60 degree bank without warning. Autopilot won’t follow heading either . It zigzags back and forth so I’ve just been hand flying it. So far I’ve added beefier sounds and tweaked the handling a bit. It’s got potential, they clearly rushed it and will put out an update sometime… sadly this is becoming normal behavior.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I was in doubt about buying this product as it looks very good on the pictures but Nemeth Designs sadly doesn’t have the best reputation. I’ll stay clear of it as I wait for further updates.
I sent a follow-up report noting these flight dynamics difficulties. Hope a fix is coming soon.
As others have mentioned it needs more than a few upgrades. Flew it once and parked it in the hangar. But with all the issues fixed it will be a great aircraft for the price.
Shame to the developers for releasing it like this. If they have any that is.
What are you talking about? Great development team.
In my experience, Nemeth is a pretty unreliable dev with middling products at best, almost no communication, and slow updates. Their addons look very nice, but that’s because they outsource the model and texturing. I’m not sure who does their flight models, but they are generally poor to mediocre. I skipped this and their last one after reading reviews that confirm they haven’t really improved, sadly.
I’ve heard their helicopters for FSX/P3D were pretty good, but my experience with their MSFS lineup has not been great. I’ll keep an eye on this one. If they can fix the main issues, it looks promising. Not holding my breath though.
lot of wrong indication/actual data errors, try to move CG to normal range and you get tailsrike,
try to adjust baro its also off…
So I bought this plane and the strangest thing happens, everytime I try to land, the plane just goes through the runway, straight into the ground underneath…I’ve tried different planes at the same airports, and different airports with the P68, and it keeps happening. Anybody have the same problem?
I didn’t experience the landing gear going through the runway bug initially after launch but strangely now it happens every time I land.
So I contacted Nemeth support and told them about the landing gear problem plus the issue with the prop levers doing nothing when you move them, and told them the plane is basically unflyable if it can’t even land properly. They replied saying “I was the only one having those issues and that I was doing something wrong”, so not their problem.
I know they probably don’t care but I won’t be buying any more of their products, and if there’s someone reading this thinking about getting this plane, better spend those 20 bucks someplace else.
Wow I’m surprised you actually got a response! I’ve sent 2 emails with no response at all.
This is such a shame, I was really looking forward to this release. I hope they get it worked out.
There’s a mod on the way which will fix all the above issues, except the AP switches - that might take a while longer. It’ll be uploaded to the flightsim.com library in the next week.
it’s not possible for me to buy anything for MSFS on day one, but I appreciate the folks who do that and
post their experiences here. Nemeth made some very good products for FSX - and some that were less good. I keep hoping that what we’re seeing from those legacy developers is related to the learning curve, and mastering the new SDK vs some kind of nefarious ill intent.
It’s also worth pointing out how lucky we all are to have the safety net of 3rd party modders who can be counted on to provide fixes and work-arounds - sure it would be nice if they didn’t have to - but I can easily say I’m grateful to them for all they do in these situations
Greetings Simmers,
for those of you that are comfortable in editing the .CFG files with notepad, while waiting for a more conprehensive mod, there are few edits that will improve the P68 behaviour
NOTE 1: open the files with notepad, make the edits, then close notepad by clicking on the X in right upper corner and save when prompted. Not ‘save as’ TXT file!
NOTE 2: always make a copy of the .CFG files before edit and save them in another location on your PC so that in case you screw something you still can put them the original back
NOTE 3: do the following at your own risk!
That said, here the edits to do:
In the ‘ENGINES.CFG’ file:
change thrust_scalar=2.0. to thrust_scalar=1.25 (reduce the excessive engines power)
change prop_tc=0 to prop_tc=0.1 (activate propeller pitch control)
in the ‘FLIGHT_MODEL.CFG’ file:
change value 1000 to 1500 in point.1 and point.2 (landing gear more robust)
change aero_center_lift=0.3 to aero_center_lift=3.3 (adjust wing center of lift that is totally off)
The aircraft handling and engines/props behaviour will improve, far from perfect but still better than its current state
Hope this helps
Thanks for the fix! But now moving the prop levers sends the rpm into oblivion and kills the engine after a while, and I can land without going through the runway about half of the time, at least on my end.
Thank you for the effort, I am a bit disappointed on Nemeth, I certainly hoped better support from a payware product.
P68B rated pilot here. Unfortunately, this thing doesn’t fly or sound anywhere close to the real thing from the reviews I’ve seen online.
The greatest complain I’d have is perhaps the soundpack apart from physics, which seem to be taken from the Asobo 172. I get the logic-same engine- however, it sounds completely different and weirdly close to a turboprop.
