So I have had no passive income at all also over 24 hrs plane in draining my company’s money. Going to sell, the problem passive also from reading to forums, Passive income isn’t worth it at all. From what Ive read the income is to low, to infrequent. The career mode is worth it in Employee mode, but company cause of the passive SNAFU, its not. Stay away from career and keep your sanity. I think I am going to get out of career all together and just do the employee mode. Although as I think of it, career is good for a couple flights, sell the plane and you got plenty of cash for the extra certifications.
Yeah we need more clarity on this, i have one 2 companies and 2 planes on a single company, not flown for days but i had one day of both planes providing passive income. I’d love to know what the trigger is to get passive income and how to best manage this.
I also cant find a guide from the community from someone who has fully worked it out. Either it’s bugged or we’re all just doing it wrong i dont know.

The check-up box for maintenance often indicates that a mandatory check-up was due multiple hours ago, but the button to initiate the check-up is unresponsive. This problem is inconsistent, as some planes function normally. Additionally, passive income is not generated consistently; although the passive income screen appeared twice initially, it has not been seen since returning to the game after a few days of not playing. Furthermore, the insurance screen is missing entirely.

• I started with 2 companies with the first being Flightseeing but didnt buy a plane. I then bought the Cargo company, a plane and set to crew on. Ive had it this way since 12/6. Ive flow all types of missions in both Employee and Freelancer mode. I have had 0 income. I bought a 3rd company on 12/12 with a 2nd plane and again flew all type of missions. Still 0 income as of 12/13. I have the mid / advanced insurance on them all.

• I got no passive income, in fact not even a card that says anything about passive income nor insurance. I did change insurance to the lowest before putting crew on, which deducted the insurance for my flight hours to that plane, without notifying me about it, but thats okay. Then I flew at least 6 hours a day for 3 days since I got most of them, and got zero income. This is 3 companies, 5 planes/heli on crew. I flew a 6th one in a different company, and did some employee missions as well. As of now, I got no notification about passive income and nothing credited to the account. The account history also shows nothing. The aircraft are stationing in areas that have plenty of freelance missions to do as well. I saw that people recieved passive income in similar occasion, but also looks like there are many that got nothing.

• This is how the account history > passive income screen looks like. I had way more flight hours than 10 min. I took this screenshot yesterday, and I flew about 5 hours since then, and it still looks like that.
Has anyone from Asobo commented on this? I’m on day 3 of having a company and have flown non-freelance missions and still not earning passive income and my crew is set to ON.
To add to my previous post, I still didn’t get any passive income, not even a window. However my crewed aircraft seem to accumulate wear, i didnt use these ones long now so it surely supposed to be the wear from the crew flying the aircraft. The problem now got even worse, as I need to maintain these aircraft even though I get no passive income. Im not really sure why it needs to be so problematic. Just get an average hourly passive income for the type of company, aircraft and area, and then multiply that by the player flight hours.
The problem might also related to insurance, as I changed the insurance on the aircraft before I crewed them, and when you change insurance, it charges you immediately for the flight hours you did, essentially resetting the insurance. That meanst that I didn’t get insurance bills. But thats speculation.
If its any help in finding the problem, I tried to reinstall the game but didnt make any difference. I think it might that my account is bugged somewhere in the server.
After this midnight I received passive income, however there is something specific I did that might triggered it. I turned all my aircraft crew off before midnight and after midnight logging in I received passive income. This might be of help in investigating this issue. The flight hours of the crew is still a bit off as well.
I am unsure about that as two days before I did something similar, logged in an hour earlier off and logged in about an hour after midnight to check and it wasnt coming anything. Also as I above mentioned I did get the passive income today with crew off, however I got more than the last 24 hour flight time, for some airplanes I got about 2 days worth of flight time while others only a fraction.
However I will try it again today, its worth a shot if i really dont need to uncrew the entire fleet.
I had it working with my passenger transports. But the income from my “NPC crews” was like I was flying as an employee myself, so around a few thousand rather than 100+.
It was not even enough to cover the maintenance costs.
I could understand if the crew themselves would get a certain ammount for payment, as I would if was flying for someone else at the beginning. But it makes no sense that they generate income for me that is equal to what an employer would pay me. Maybe they would “level-up” in experience and generate more later, similar to how it works with employees in Euro Truck Sim 2 or ATS?
No idea, maybe that´s the plan, but right now it doesn´t make sense to “hire” additional planes.
I got an alright amount of passive income, so financially seemed to be worth it. The calculations are not really disclosed, so I dont know if it counts, but I had my aircraft delivered/transported into areas that had a lot of freelance job of the fitting type. I do agree that they should have a hire system like in ETS/ATS with skill and hourly rate etc, and a leveling mechanism. Also it would be nice if you would just see what flights they are doing, how much flight hour they have, and have a constant overview of it, instead of praying every midnight that you will see something that makes sense, or anything at all. I’m not sure if that ever comes, its probably pretty low on the priority list, but it is also the easiest to implement, all of these are just numbers on the screen.
To get best passive income, i compared the passive income of different planes.
To maximize income, just buy VL-3 or Robin in your flight seeing company for 400k each. You will get 17k per flight hour. After 24 flight hours you can sell it for around 237k so you got round about 10k profit per hour.
A C208 for 3,8M will give you only 45k per flight hour income, but 9 VL-3 for the same money will give you 153k. But you will need to handle a large amount of aircraft…and I can tell that’s no fun cause of the UI…
