Passive Income to low and payout system should be changed

The passive income is very low and barely covers the upkeep costs of these planes. Some of the higher tier planes are quite expensive, and depending on how much time you can spend flying one or more missions per day, it may take you weeks, if not months, to acquire them. This can be rather frustrating. Furthermore, the payout is not given after each flown mission but is instead calculated on a daily basis. If you’re saving for a new plane, it would be much more helpful to have the passive income paid out after each mission.

What I would like to have changed or improved:

  • The income should be higher or similar to the employer commission when flying an employee mission.
  • The payout should be instant after each mission you successfully complete.

Picture of may actual passive income:

(I still wait for tier 2 or Charter Service VIP to show up on the map)

If you fly a mission as employee, the commission taken by the employer is much higher then what we are actually getting:

There is also a good topic in the discussion hub from SoloAires about this issue(wish):

Update: Sorry wrong screen shot. Corrected.

Thank you!
And I actually found, that I don’t get passive income when flying as employee in Career. May be got some bug, but I received absolutely nothing after 2 days of flying as hired pilot (having 2 companies with the “crew on”)… And it makes upset.
So yes, current system of passive income is very unclear in MSFS. It would be much clearer and interactive if you receive passive income as a bonus after every flight. I also want to have more information about how it calculates income in connection with flying hours.

So f.e.:
Your time in flight: 30 m.

1 company income rate: 10 000 per hour. Your income for flight: 5000
2 company income rate: 6 000 per hour. Your income for flight: 3000
Your total income per hour: 16 000
Your total income for flight (30m): 8 000

Given the bug in insurance, I’m pretty sure the passive income is bugged. I too found that there is no passive income for employee missions but also, the number of hours is really wierd. I had a few planes fly the expected hours but then I had 3 or 4 more that flew much less. I’m not sure why.

The part about employees is actually very realistic. Isn’t capitalism fair and great?

The idea behind passive income is that the amount of income you get is proportional to how much you fly in career mode. In the FAQ, it even says that you can get income when flying in employee mode. I think this is a great game mechanic because often I want to fly employee missions like ferry flights because it’s to locations I like. I flew an employee mission from Hope, BC to Pemberton, BC in a DCH-2 and took many pictures along the way. It only paid $1,500. Which, is a minute amount even for starting out. However, it was great because I was getting passive income which should have amounted to around $200k… but I didn’t.

I think it’s bugged because the FAQ says you should get money from employee missions and this is a really good game mechanic.

There’s nothing “realistic” about it, if it was “realistic” we would get the same amount no matter how much flying we did but I think the way they did this is really good. It just needs to work the way the say it does.

My bad, Ishould have explained myself better. I meant that specifically about the employee getting 1% of what the employer got from the payout in missions, not about passive income, which is indeed buggy

Yes, I was also upset, that mechanic don’t work as it should. And only flying as a part of company you get extra income. So employee mode is absolutely useless now in Career

I’m even worse at passive income

We should get passive income while doing Employee Missions in Career !

Makes no sense that you need at least two planes and do Freelance missions to start getting Passive Income.

My opinion we should also get Passive Income for all kinds of (active)flying in all Modes of the game.
But i understand that this might be a bit more difficult to implement, and may need some balancing.

On Xbox you get income from Employee Freelance and Free Flight it’s just not enough.
