I don’t have VR.

Question : is it possible to decrease the movements?

If I’d go with the motion platform, I’d increase it only a little bit.

I tried the Military version and the commercial version before purchase. I chose the commercial version as the green military seat was less comfortable for longer sessions.

Yes. All DOF Reality motion platforms come with a control app (made by SimRacing Studios). It allows to fine-tune all axis and the telemetry (incoming from MSFS).

As a matter of fact, not much motion is needed to trick the human inner ear into perceiving motion. For motion platforms that simulate general aviation flight, the key actually is: Less is more!

SRS software even has a function for washout (albeit rudimentary). For roll, the movement is initiated, only to be slowly reduced back to level. That initial motion cue is enough to make the initiation of the turn believable. Btw, washout is used by most commercial motion platforms.

Not everyone gets this. I have seen countless videos on YouTube where people have the washout function deactivated, resulting in sim pilots barely holding on in severely tilted cockpits during a (supposedly) coordinated turn.

Car racing is a different story. Here, the movements as shown are probably rather true to life! My back hurts just from watching :slight_smile:

Things are quite different in flight simming, where the position of the plane and the forces at play interact with each other (like roll, gravity and centrifugal force in a coordinated turn)
