This is RW’s first airport for MSFS… and what a way to make an entrance! I really don’t need to say too much — the detail in every nook and cranny is absolutely fabulous and the terminal interior is right up there with the very best! Nothing has been overlooked — it’s great to see such uniform detail across the entire airfield, from the fantastic interior that’s actually populated with people, to the fully modelled landside with a superb variety of beautifully modelled vehicles.
No issues whatsoever with the bits us virtual pilots see most frequently, i.e. airside. It’s all first-class, with gorgeous texturing/weathering on all buildings and some exceptional ground textures. If I had to really pick fault, I think SOME of the ground markings could be a touch sharper, but they’re fine as they are. It really was a treat pulling up at the gate for the first time, seeing all that lovely, high-quality ground clutter and peering at and into a terminal that looks incredibly lifelike.
PERFORMANCE
Even with FSLTL running I have super-smooth performance. Again, not much more to say.
VERDICT
When you have a scenery this good, it’s a case of the less said, the better. The last time I couldn’t really find a single thing to genuinely moan about was when reviewing FlyTampa’s Humberside.
I really enjoyed my first approach into here — some great default Ozark scenery, coupled with the excellent job RW have done with KSGF. It’s one of those airports that’s easy to recommend to anyone and everyone, simply because it’s worth having in your collection — even if you’ve little interest in flying in this part of the world. And the cherry on the cake is that it’s currently 30% off at IniBuilds!
I already picked this one up in the sale and shall fly there soon. Another bonus is you just know these guys will have the best GSX profile for this as they are the experts!
I can only agree. For me, Springfield-Branson is one of the most complete airports available for the MSFS to date. I know of very few airports that don’t have any serious weaknesses. Simply one of the best airports for the simulator.
I love your reviews, but they keep letting lost in the MSFS forums due to how forums are designed. Have you ever considered posting them on a blog or onto another site for easy access and archiving?
It has static choppers on the mil ramp and a good number of Saab 340s outside a facility I believe specialises in their maintenance. In either case, the statics in no way interfere with AI traffic mods or VATSIM and actually add a bit of atmosphere.
That was a day one purchase for me, it already looked awesome in the promo screenshots. And agreed, it’s absolutely brilliant and it perfectly hits my weak spot for american regional airports. I’m curious about their next airport.
Hi!
I’ve added the “review” tag to this topic for you so others can find it using the tag. You might want to add it to any future reviews you write - or past reviews that you have written - to help folks find them!
