Pc settings

I know it goes to taste too but normal fluid and beautiful is enough for me… what settings do you recommend
I9 9900k 5.0ghz
Rtx 2070 super
32gb of ram
Windows 10
32 inch 2540x1440 screen

another question, the first time you open fs2020 the settings let’s say that he had set them automatically fs2020 according to my system, how do you make him do it again?

Full ultra render scale at 90% if it isnt smoth

I have the same system specs and run on ultra settings, vsync on, and get smooth at 50-60 fps. My monitor is widescreen i.e. a little bigger.

I think you have to reset the sim.
Press your Windows key… start typing Microsoft flight sim.. so it appears. Then to the right, click on app settings..then “reset”
You may lose your control settings as well though.

When the MFS app is open, under App Permissions should Background Apps be switched On or Off?

Mine is set to “power optimised” which is the recommended setting.
This doesn’t make any difference in regards to the OP’s question though

This doesn’t reset the settings in the sim, only “resets” the launch of the app. Settings are saved in the cloud I believe.

I often use this when the sim freezes on launch and it doesn’t affect anything settings-wise.

You could try renaming %AppData%\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalCache\UserCfg.opt and letting the sim create a new one the next time you start it… Not sure if it’s saved to the cloud which then writes to that file or if it’s totally locally I guess… Either way that’s your best bet.

You might be right… but I thought “repair” did that, and “reset” reset everything ( inc the settings in the cloud) but I could be wrong.

You’re right, “repair” does fix the launcher, but “reset” UNINSTALLS and REINSTALLS the game. Never do reset! Many-a-poor-souls on this forum have accidentally deleted the game that way.

Simplest solution for retaining settings would be to save a copy of the user config.opt file.

That is exactly why some of us do what they call “Backups”. I backup my complete system and do a couple of file and folder backups too.
..
One folder backup is called MSFS_Bak and allows me to recover my MSFS rather quickly in the event of a mishap or my stupidity. Everyone should consider having a backup.

I have the same card as you, just my CPU is a bit weaker 9700. I am running on all ULTRA without issues (terrain LOD 200), but I am limiting the FPS in the Nvidia control panel to 30. Extremely smooth experience. Though I have 1080p monitor. I would suggest you try limiting the FPS and check what you get, there is no need for anything above 30 in this sim.
