Before you muppets say the graphics has got worst and the frames are tanking, I’m going to just tell you straight - this post has such positivity you’re going to recoil in pain and be speechless for weeks…
Let me be the first to congratulation Asobo on a great patch and for me it looks like I’m getting a solid 5-7 frames more flying over London with Orbx landmarks and EGLC installed. With my 2080Ti I’m hitting a solid 50 fps which I’m more than happy about in this highly built up area! Settings on a mixture of Ultra and High @ 1440p.
Are any of you guys seeing performance increases? One reason could be London has a lot of bridges which they’ve improved performance with.
Live traffic is improved also … swarming with planes … checking on Flightradar24 its almost spot on ( SOME missing ) with the usual 10 min delay that is ( acceptable in my opinion)
Yeah download is a little slow, and then you have go to the marketplace to download USA also which I like because you can add and remove these as you see fit.
Thanks Rick, also the rendering of custom objects is great - I don’t know if you know London but in the back ground over the Thames is the Dartford Crossing - you can barely make it out in the screenshot but it’s there which is impressive.
What CPU do you have? In my PC I can´t see any improvement, and in some areas, I would say that the performance is slightly worse. But I am CPU limited, so my case may be different.
Same for me. I get slightly more stutters as well as random frame drops from 40+ to 18-20. Running 10875h/2080Smaxq/32Gb Razer Blade laptop (2020 version).
I wish that was the case, but not here. Since update I get way more stutters and huge FPS drops few minutes into flights. My RAM hits 32 GB and CPU usage and GPU usage drops.
Last update (6) was nice and stable and no such issues. Rebooted, and deleted my rolling cache to see if it makes any difference but it did not. Any other suggestions?
I did a series of tests last night with all variables turned off. No Multiplayer, AI traffic, default weather, etc. I recorded my frames, CPU and GPU usage.
Did them all again after the patch with the same settings. There is absolutely no change that’s not within margin of error.
What is better though is PG data is loading up quicker and causing fewer stutters. The claim of having optimized PG is true, and it’s what you’re seeing.
But unless you have a controlled tests with before and after numbers, your results are based on anecdotal only.
That said, I’ll take those PG changes. My initial run with the TBM felt nice. It feels different now and I like it. I’m sure I’ll see a lot of other great things as I get to play through it more.
Just opportunistically joining in the praise! That update is great, forget about losing a few key bindings for the cockpit camera view. Am currently flying the original bush trip across the Sierras for a second time and it was as big a joy as the first time, then it was new, now it is even better (of course there have been a few updates since that first time). And quite frankly, you can take a little while longer releasing VR support officially (until my Reverb G2 shows up, that is)
My first disappointment came when I didn’t see the Alaska Bush trip that was promised, I was so eager for that, but having learned that there are four more GB to download until then… Sigh.
But the general direction the Sim is taking is definitely UP!
