Performance lacks post SU10/WU11

Im sorry, but wheres this performance upgrade weve all been looking for? Followed all the steps prior to the new update, hoping things would be THAT much better. 29 FPS at CYYZ in the Fenix? 36 FPS in the pmdg 737? GPU utilization still less than 50% as well. Not sure where all this performance went to, but im not blown away. Unless I’m doing something wrong… I9 11900K, 3080, 32GB ram, all high end stuff. Best regards to everyone though, im just ranting off my experience. Also note, 1GB internet speed, Windows 10. I also want to note ive spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on add ons and upgrades with flight sim hardware and scenery. Its still a great sim,. One thing i must check is to see if there is performance degradation on long hauls…

I’m not getting much performance increase with a RTX 3060 ti. Just a couple of FPS, and little difference between Balanced and Quality. Ultra performance gives a noticable drop in quality with little benefit in performance. And all version blur the instruments. Perhaps this will improve when Nvidia release their new driver.

Same here, I was so happy that SU10 was release but It’s like I get more stutters with nothing in my community folder. I hope they can come up with a fix. I love the clouds they are really nice to fly in.

probably need to wait for the updated GPU driver - the official one if you don’t like the beta - so you can use DX12. From what I gather the SU10 update utilizes DX12 for best performance

Running and old RTX2060super here significant performance boost on 1440p with DLSS set to quality. You will only noticed a benefit if you were already GPU limited.

If you updated to the new windows 11 build this could affect your performance. Not everyone is affected but I had to role back to regain the smooth performance gains.

This thread is related and isn’t specific to VR.

I refuse to update to windows 11 because ive heard nothing but bad reviews with MSFS. I think maybe i was just expecting too much. Maybe once the Nvidia driver gets released, things may be better? Idk just super disappointed because of all the hype.

ok - I have an RTX 2080 super, I’m running Win11 with DX12 in MSFS and DLSS enabled
I have the Studio Driver released 9/20/2022
I’m getting a terrific FPS boost and it’s glassy
I was able to raise ‘texture resolution’ in the MSFS GUI to ‘Ultra’ from previous ‘High’ setting
All is good until the official Nvidia driver is released

Fingers crossed

DX12 performance gains is locked until Nvidia releases update as per release notes. Shouldn’t matter if you have AMD.

I’ve noticed a nice little performance boost in VR which allowed for some TAA head space.
I’m now able to push from ( SU9) 90 to (SU10) 100 TAA and OpenXR Toolkit FSR 100 with1.3 SS in Oculus Debug Tool using DX11 in VR. Don’t care to use DX12 at all. The image has never looked this crisp for me until now and the lighting seems better in SU10. Pretty happy camper here.

Performance improvement via DLSS requires an Nvidia 20xx series or higher and you need to be GPU bound prior to SU10. Obviously need to enable DLSS in graphics options. I am getting huge improvements wuth roughly double fps 30ish before SU10 to 60ish in a lot of places. 45ish in NYC. All with DX11. Even better my gpu load dropped from 100% to somewhere in the 70% range.

I have a 2080 ti.

I’ve had zero problems with Windows 11 and MSFS, so that’s one good review for you

I’ve not had a single issue with running the SIM on Windows 11.

I was taking part in beta and this morning I was shocked by the number of lags I had. After reverting the 22H2 update it is all fine again. Nvidia 3090, AMD 5900X.

Performance is PERFECT and I was enable to significantly ramp up the graphics quality  while doing some low and slow bushflying the Fenix.

With the 3060ti and a Ryzen5800 I have it vsync on and 50% refresh rate (basically the old 30fps cap) with mostly ultra, dlss is on, performance mode.

I’m getting a very smooth experience with that and a good balance of gpu and mainthread.

I can achieve higher frame rates if I switch to 100% refresh rate but I find the variation between 30-60 a bit jarring and can cause the occasional stutter.

I too had better results with 50%. My desktop refresh is 120, so 60 is perfect. But I still don’t get as good a results as SU9, though with 50% set I get better CPU loading, though lower framerates overall.

I can only second to the worse post SU10 performance.
At least 20 fps lost on the same settings, even the default aircraft are affected. I do have fps limited at 48fps, no problem to be around that number before with mostly high and a few ultra settings.
Now nowhere near that
W11, Ryzen 7 5800, RTX3060, 32GB RAM, 1TB gaming SSD dedicated to msfs.
Worst update ever for me and I have more than 1000hrs flown + plus some hundreds in the menu/on the ground, but now I am losing motivation to start the sim at all.
