Performance with RTX 4070 Ti Super and 5800X3D

What about Traffic settings?

I’ve found those to be the #1 performance killer with my 5800X3D and 3090 Ti.

I did some more tweaking in the meantime, now I get ~117 FPS in the same region:

I kept the default traffic settings

Not sure about fs24 saving your pc. There will be a lot of optimalizations but also there will be a lot of new stuff so it will even out…

We will see.

This is why I chuckle any time I see claims that fs24 will cure all our ills. No one knows what the results will be yet.

I have the same setup, and I can’t complain about the performance. Almost all of my settings are on ultra. I keep TLOD at 150 and have a fluid simulation.

I agree about upgrading for MSFS2024. We don’t have any performance benchmarks to know exactly what the sim will require, but I suspect that for “optimal” performance, it will still need a 5000 series GPU.

I suspect that whilst better multi-threading will help with CPU bottlenecks,
it will require more GPU VRAM.

i am a little worrisome with fs2024. So much is in the server in fs2024. I think that the real bottleneck will be the server speed. No amount of cores, memory, graphics or not even your own download speed can be enough. It depents on the server speed in the future.

So I tested the Alpha on a high end machine and a low end machine.

  • High end: Intel 13700KF, 96Gb RAM, 4070 Super 12Gb VRAM
  • Low end: Ryzen 3 4100, 16Gb RAM, 3050 6Gb VRAM

And I was REALLY surprised how well it ran on the low end machine, it ran very well, and I cant run 2020 on that machine that well. The key thing is I had 2Gbps Download and Upload speeds, and of course I doubt the servers were at full load.

Hello,

I have a 5800x3d, a rtx 4070 ti super ROG, 32 gb Trident Z, and a MP600 from corsair.

I have an ASUS 27” 1440p 145Hz monitor but I block it at 60Hz to play Fs2020/24.

I undervolted the graphics card with Afterburner and the ryzen 5800x3d using the bios.

My CPU and GPU don’t heat up during game play

I have a Bell Canada Gigabit fibe 1.5 package

99% of the time I use single-engine planes like the Cessna or TBM, never an airliner, and I don’t frequent big airports.

I used the Dwindling FPS video (Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Graphics Optimization | All Graphics Settings Compared) on Youtube as a starting point.

I now have a mixture that gives me satisfaction and that will evolve depending on the improvements made by Microsoft in the coming months.

Mind you, my settings suit the way I play.

I fly over New Zealand, France and southern England and my FPS are around 58 FPS with Cessna or TBM.

Otherwise here’s a passage over Manhattan with the Cessna, I turn between 45 and 58 FPS depending on which zone I’m looking at.

I’ve limited the monitor refresh to 60Hz in the Windows options, the game is fluid and the cpu and gpu don’t heat up, if I leave it at144Hz and depending on the area I’m flying in, I go up to 105 fps max but my GPU goes up to 60/65 degrees.
