Hi all, Just wondering if you should use both Bing Data & Photogrammetry at the same time. or one only. If so which gives the best results. Cheers Mike.
You need to use both to get the best view. Bing data makes the autogenerated ground textures, buildings and scenery look good, and Photogrammetry adds the specific areas that have this feature available (a long list of cities). I’ve never tried photogrammetry ON and Bing OFF though - I don’t know if PG works without Bing data.
You can try all this out pretty easily. Start by turning off your rolling cache (if you use it - in the data options in the general tab) and make sure you clear the cache too (might do this automatically when you turn it off) - this stores recent downloaded scenery data so that if you fly over the same areas you don’t need to stream it all. This is effectively the Bing data. So turning that off and clearing it will clear out any Bing data you’ve currently got stored.
Then spawn in over New York with them both turned on.
Then try turning off PG and you’ll see an auto generated version of New York.
Then try turning off Bing data and you should see the impact that has - you may need to fly away a little bit for that to have an affect as you’ll already be looking at the Bing data when you spawn in.
You could then try spawning over (say) Paris and turning them back on one at a time (I’d turn Bing Data on furst as I’m not sure PG works without it).
Once you’ve finished, you can turn back on your rolling cache if you used it.
Hope that helps
Thanks for that gordongrieg will do .
