PilotPlus - London Oxford Does it work in MSFS 2024

Hi I have just picked up London Oxford by PilotPlus from Orbx, and the Orbx installer will not install it into the Community folder in FS2024.

My question is, are there any members who have pasted this scenery from their 2020 collection successfully into FS 2024 with no issues. The same question can also apply to Wycombe Air Park by the same developer.

I too have been wondering whether or not Oxford works in FS2024. I did see a post regarding Wycombe, and the consensus is that it’s ostensibly fine in the new sim — but there was no indication of where it was purchased.

Have you tried installing it into FS2020, and simply copying the airport’s folder over to your FS2024 community folder? That might (should?) work.

Didn’t they just disable all third party non aircraft content

Yes. Non-aircraft markeplace items are/will be out of use until they have been tested. We’ll have to settle for Oxford’s Ivy-covered molten buildings until then… :yum:

Since it’s only Marketplace content that’s been disabled, it won’t affect purchases from the likes of Orbx. I’d definitely try installing it into 2020 and then copying the folder to your 2024 community folder. I see no reason why that wouldn’t work.

I have just installed a whole load of airports over the last few day with no problem. It is that the Orbx installer won’t install Oxford or Wycombe as it is not listed as 2024.
I have sent a ticket to Pilot Plus and await a response.

Unfortunately, they’re no longer active so you’ll not get a response.

That was me, and I’ve now double-checked to confirm that I bought and installed all six Pilot Plus airports (Wycombe, Oxford, Swansea, Southend, Biggin Hill and Bristol) from Orbx over the years.

I have now copied those from my 2020 Community folder to the new one I created for 2024, and have just tested Oxford for you.

Seems to work just fine, though the grass is a bit long and it has those silly big blue taxi lights that the new sim puts in. Did not have time to try out the sole ILS approach here, sorry. (Excuse the wrong runway in the screenshots below - this was purely a quick visuals, night lighting and taxiway bumps check.)

I’d say you are good to go with buying this in any current sale and then using it in 2024. But please don’t blame me if it does NOT play along nicely down the track somehow…

Thanks for that. I doubt anyone would have the audacity to blame you as it’s clear Pilot plus aren’t going to continue supporting their products.

A shame, then-wishing another dev like Sofly would bring us a more up to date Bristol and Southend as I enjoyed Pilot Pus renditions of both.

I have just got a responce from a ticket I created with Orbx, they said they are waiting for PilotPlus conformation. Long wait then if they are no longer active.

I have just contacted Orbx again with a couple of suggestions. Lets see what happens now.

I had a reply from Orbx. They have 800 titles they are waiting for FS2024 compatibility conformation from developers for, some of which their team are working through. PilotPlus titles no doubt will be in the later group. Wycombe and Oxford will be worth the wait.

It’s a bit strange that items are still for sale if the developer isn’t around any more for support etc.

I always considered pilot plus as one of the better developers and as others have said their Bristol version was excellent.

A shame if they have gone and shows what a difficult industry it is to be in despite sometimes complaints of 3rd party pricing being too high.

I seem to remember they had a limit of 10 downloads or something then you had to contact them for a new key so don’t know how that’s now going to work.

On a separate note @cdsolo your pics are what makes msfs2024 so great for me (especially the 2nd one) and at this price it is tempting to pick this up for 2020 (and use in 2024) even with no ongoing support.

Pilotplus Oxford, Bristol, Biggin Hill & Wycombe all seem to work well in MSFS 2024!

Swansea as well, apart from a few ground elevation issues that mean static aircraft wheels disappear into the tarmac. Details and interior for walking around are great though, including the likeness of Mark from Simhanger. :grinning:

Sadly for me I only have one version of Flight Sim, and that is FS2024. The Orbx installer will not install FS2020 content into FS2024 without cross compatibility. I do not really see the need for installers for add-on scenery, which is a simple unzip, copy and paste into your Community Folder.

Is there no way to install these airports from Orbx when you don’t have 2020 anymore?
