As part of my random new issues with the crystal…
this one plagues me even on a bare win 11 install… i have version 1.30x of the client installed too (tried with 1.14 same issue), i set pimaxxr to steam mode, have openxr toolkit fps turned on from before, launch vr, all i see is a black screen with fps text. If i turn off openxr toolkit its black no text.
Anyone ran into this (already tried other usb ports, power cycle headset, battery swap etc), i think its the headset being bad now
Decided to wipe windows, same issue strangely (as my other win 11 bare install it was working), put client 1.14 and pimax xr tools along with steamvr mode, same black screen
Why do you insist on Steam VR OpenXR runtime instead of PimaxXR?
There are times I want to use the virtual desktop for viewing youtube tutorials while in vr, and steamvr has the best way to switch back and forth. At least on the older pimax client, 1.14 you have to use the experience home and half the time its taking the goggles off because the mouse isnt working etc.
I generally use pimaxxr native mode, better fps yes
Update to the thread though:
i solved the steamvr black screen just now, it was a setting in the steamvr settings, im not exactly sure which. I went to my “working” other test os, matched up settings, now i have an image again. Phew
