Can someone please explain to me the steps I need to use my pimax hmd.I was in the beta and used my reverb with no problems and also used reverb today.Do I have to do anything different to get the pimax to work becuase it just tells me no headset detected thank you.

“No headset found” issue when enabling VR mode.

Solution: Select Beta mode for SteamVR, and validate the message from SteamVR asking to make it the default gateway for OpenXR that appears when you relaunch SteamVR. Next time you enable VR mode, your Pimax headset will be found.

I have to say I am nothing but horrifically disappointed with VR in MSFS. I am still in denial, and there must be something I’m doing wrong. But as far as I can tell, this VR implementation is beyond insulting. I understand that VR is never going to run as well as a screen. I have been using VR since its first days and even further. I would say that on a screen MSFS looks a 100 times better than DCS (which is what I’ve been using VR for), but in VR it is a 100 times worse to put it mildly. Using the VR preset I can’t read anything in the cockpit, and as soon as I up the setting the FPS becomes unplayably slow (I am OK with 30 fps or even lower) . Those who know me know that I never complain about anything, but this is the worst peace of ■■■■ I have ever seen. Please tell me that I’m doing something wrong with my settings. I thank anyone trying to help in advance.

What are your pc specs and what vr are you using?With a g1 reverb to me its crystal clear.

Thanks for your response. I have a pimax5k+. i9-9900k processor at 4.3GHz, 32GB RAM and a 2080Ti. On screen I run everthing on ULTRA without problems. When I use the recommended VR settings, fps are ok, but it looks really bad, and I can’t read the labels on switches, etc.

I tried my pimax 5k+ yesterday I can agree the visuals are not good,i also have a g1 reverb and it is completely clear.I think really only the g1 g2 reverb and 8kx are gonna give you the clarity you want.The other issue with pimax is with parallel projections on the performance is worse and the clarity is worse,I’m curious to hear how the clarity of the 8kx looks compared to the reverb because I would love the extra fov.

Thanks, that’s my feeling also, the pimax 5k+ is not yet optimized for MSFS…
