Piper Pacer/Tri-Pacer package from Lionheart Creations

Lionheart is releasing an FS2020 version of their excellent Pacer package!

Includes the classic Pacer, Tri-Pacer, a bush version, bush version with STOL mods, and an amphibian. Plus two panels and a bunch of liveries.

Currently only available for FS2020; on Facebook, Lionheart mentioned that the 2024 marketplace is having unknown issues with the plane. Hopefully soon! (If you buy in 2020, it will not currently show up in your 2024 library.)

More shots including both panels…

Tons of liveries, but it’s missing this super-important one for kids who built models in the 1900s…

loved this and the Fairchild pack with the Warner Scarab and Ranger inline powered options too.

Looking forward to having them again, now in MS2020

Looking forward to this. One of my favourites from FSX.

This looks fantastic, I’ve been hoping for a Pacer since I lost my Alabeo version in XPlane 11! Such a complete package is a great bonus - this will be an instant buy for me.

Another masterpiece from Bill?! Count me in! Looking forward to having her in 24!

Its live in 2020, Bill is still working on making it 2024 compatible. I only fly in 2024 at this point so I will try to patiently wait. Apparently there is some bug that Microsoft cannot seem to pin down that is keeping the package from working in 2024.

So for the moment it’s only on the marketplace, right ?

For those who bought it, can you display the passenger in the cockpit view ? (not in external view)

Released today in the 2024 Marketplace!

Nope, passenger is only in the external view.

Not a big deal to me since MSFS avatars are so “PC game 2006”, but I understand it adds to immersion for some folks.

To save anyone else the aggravation, the battery switch is underneath the pilot seat.

Here the link to the PDF manual for folks considering it, or who have 2024 and don’t want to have to download the plane locally to get at the file.

Thanks, I couldn’t find it in my 2020 files

this looks very nice. It states in the marketplace that it uses Asobo sounds ans basic avionics. How should I interpret this? Is the flight model and the sound generic? s this a potential deal breaker? Basic avionics I can accept. Sounds seem more important, and what about the flight model. I tried to find something on YouTube and learned that Lionheart has a Tri Pacer going back a decade. Any thoughts? I really want this to be good. Thanks

I thought the sounds would be generic as well but I don’t recognize them from any stock aircraft and I thought they actually sound decent. I’ve never flown a pacer, it reacts very strongly to any rough air, wind, or updrafts. Like to the point where it’s hard to control. The floats variant was noticeably faster than the wheeled variants when I flew it which seemed counterintuitive, and the water rudders are purely suggestions - I did not have a lot of success maneuvering in the water. That being said in smooth conditions it flew quite nicely , the STOL variant performed quite well and overall I think it’s a fine enough package for the price.

Lionheart’s flight modeling is always good in my experience. The Pacer flies Pacer numbers, it’s not “generic.” I haven’t flown one IRL, but it feels convincing.Check out the manual for info on how the performance is simulated, etc.

As for the engine, the Pacer users a 150HP Lyccoming O-320, same as the Asobo 150 and 172. Asobo’s sounds are top-notch, so if a third-party plane that has the same engine adapts those, I have no problem with that. No need to do custom just for custom’s sake.

I picked it up today too, it flies like I would imagine a steel tube and fabric airplane would fly, especially in rough weather. And the sounds that were used sound like an old airplane would sound lol.

In 2024 I did find a couple bugs, the tri-pacer has water rudder controls, and the gauge lights seem to be floating above the glass and over illuminate at night making it impossible to see the gauge underneath. And the wheel pant selector in the tri-pacer does not show the classic version. When you select it it just shows open wheel. For what you get though. Well worth the money. I think I am going to have a lot of fun with this.

thank to all three of you. Im convinced! ill pick it up in the morning. Sad about the wheel pants on the tri-pacer. Its such an iconic look. Also thanks for sharing the manual. Somehow they managed to get the pants to show in game in the photos.

Im sure if its brought to his attention that it will be corrected. It could be an issue that was popping up when trying to get the store version of the plane to load into 2024.

The other versions like the regular pacer with the conventional landing gear works very well with the wheel pant selection.

Well I bought the cubs. There are no tie downs, chocks, and no click spots on the elevators, ailerons or rudder which is frankly ok with me. She really bounces about even in a light breeze which is kind of fun and the “modern” wheel pants look nice to my eye. Haven’t had a lot of time to do more than a couple of quick flights in the Tri-pacer but I like it and the sounds are nice. Really happy with it. Thanks for the heads up. A nice purchase. Looks like I’m on my way to collecting Cubs with this and the CAS J3.

Yea, the plane is 2024 compatible, not 2024 native so the new walk around features are not present. I have read that the real plane could be a handful in cross wind conditions. It is after all tube and fabric. So the bouncing is all part of the fun lol. I am going to start a trip tonight with it going from Coolidge Muni to my ome airport KJBC here in Colorado so I can get very familiar with the plane. I personally am a Conventional gear guy, so I will take the regular pacer. It does very nice wheel and 3 point landings. And the red and cream color livery is just sexy.
