I was able to confirm after hundreds of tests that there is a problem in “Cubemap Reflections”, I don’t know how, I don’t know why not at all systems (or maybe because it is not noticed in all conditions). However the problem is related with reflections on water as with dark reflections in clouds (instead bright white clouds are very good). The result is the same: pixellation. I believe that under certain conditions and with certain systems the problem occurs. I have already excluded everything and I am convinced that it should be fixed in MSFS2020.
Hi, in my case I never changed anything. Same settings and same monitor, but the problem appears after the latest MSFS 2020 updates.
I quite believe you but that doesn’t necessary mean that much as this isn’t a universal problem. Maybe your gpu is struggling with your filter settings, try refreshing your Nvidia shaders cache (or perform a clean driver install) and also undo any changes you may have made to the UserCfg. Don’t forget to empty the rolling cache inbetween.
PS. Cubemap reflections are never well antialiased, so don’t expect perfection
I agree, it’s not a universal problem but exclusively MSFS2020 because my graphics card didn’t have this problem until recently and anyway now everything is fine with other applications and games.
Trust me, I also requested technical assistance from NVIDIA and MSFS2020 ZenDesk and we ruled out problems with my setup after a week of emails. I think that at least NVIDIA support will have knowledge about graphics…
P.S. I think this topic is related to the topic at the following link:
The developers have noted that under certain conditions (very dense, thick clouds, dark and stormy, your graphics settings, etc. the chance for some pixelation is increased. It is not prioritized to be fixed at this time. Thank you!
Note - This issue is in the Resolved section but it is not “fixed” - I have moved it here as it is closed as not a priority at this time so other items can make it onto the feedback snapshot.
