I really hope that the other addon planes are getting added to career mode too, buying the deluxe edition, premium deluxe edition or Aviator edition feels a bit like a waste then if not. Sure you can fly them in free flight and they are cool but when i see the Airbus h225 has SAR interior you can choose in the configuration why isnt it in career mode? And the Saab in free flight lets you board passengers that you can see sitting in the cabin.
This is just an example, and a another plane i want to point out the Twin otter would be perfect for cargo runs. I am sure Asobo will add more but i have an bad feeling about it. So if anyone have some confirmation about this it would ease my mind. Sorry for long post
This did Microsoft post before realese:
What aircraft will I have access to in Career Mode?
Career Mode is open for all kinds of aircraft that are appropriate for the various aviation activities. Most but not all of the aircraft from the various editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be utilized in the Career and the system is also open to 3rd parties if they want their aircraft to participate.
That is a lie, a small fraction of the aircraft are in career mode
Edit: The saab340 is now available in career mode but it is completely bugged out, on the 5 missions i have testet you instantly fail the missions because when you spawn in the plane is not facing the gate and then you get an fail message that the ground procedures Arent done correctly and kicks you back to the menu screen
yup, I have even VIP charters, where is cessna CJ4 - but no missions with this plane.
I spend a lot of money to discorev a lot of territory, but no mission with cessna CJ4 or Pilatus.
So you can just take only few certificates, because most of them are useless…
I stretched to get the aviator edition to have extra variety in the career (mostly for the chinook TBF). It sucks to have such a limited roster from what I can see.
If the planes are not of a high enough quality to be in career, they probably shouldn’t have been sold in the SIM in the first place?
I have a question guys:
EVERY plane I bought within Career mode (so far 3 172’s) is painted in… white. Yes - plain white.
What is wrong with MS?? Why can we not change the paint. And - why is every plane just plain white?
I know we have bigger fish to fry but this shows me that nobody at Asobo or MS has EVER played Career mode prior launch.
I mean - you would SEE that all is always white right? Or are all Devs just colorblind?
Oh and yes - the name of my companie is written in WHITE on a WHITE livery. What the actual really…
Speaking of paint, how do you change the paint? And why is the company name written in the same color as the plane? I’ve been watching a stream, and the first plane he got was white with white lettering, and while the second plane was blue, surprise-surprise it had blue lettering.
The career mode is clearly not finished, it’s a good start, a good base but for the moment it’s not finished.
I think and hope that at least 80% of the game’s aircraft will be integrated into the career mode.
The career mode is the best way to fly civil aircraft.
From what I’ve observed, you can get into fire fighting relatively quickly through freelance missions. You don’t have to do the company and worry about maintenance and all that. Although it’s not exactly how I would do it - I would have career mode be just a realistic fly from point A-A or A-B structure, and have a separate missions mode for those that just want to experience that part of it - it is a rather flexible setup where you can freelance pretty quickly or get into much greater detail with companies.
Interesting. Thanks. Yeah I just want to try the missions and aircraft. Cargo, vip, firefight etc. I don’t care about having a company. I never do in any games with career mode; ie sports or racing games.
I’m not sure at which point it happens but when you unlock more certifications and specializations - more aircraft you’ll be able to buy, including Chinook
They added new planes to the career during the last 24 hours.
Nothing to do with certifications or specializations.
These planes is not likely available to use for missions yet. Just like the Citations.
Chinook and few other planes were unlocked just now, when I unlocked “Cargo Transport - Heavy” specialization.
The screenshot I attached to my previous message I took in my cargo company in “Buy aircraft” section. I can buy them but most likely some of them I can’t use as they are supposed for heavy cargo but that certification will be available in further updates.
I haven`t unlocked heavy cargo specialization, but they still “unlocked” for me.
They were just added to the career. Nothing to do with unlocking them.
You mean you can buy them? Because when I unlocked Heavy cargo there was a pop-up window showing a bunch of aircraft (including Chinook) saying that now they are available for me and I can buy it. Before it they were missing in “Buy aircraft” section.
Yes, I was notified that these aircraft unlocked when I unlocked heavy cargo. This game sometimes work differently for different users. Some have bugs, some don’t which is quite strange sometimes. Well, if they added more aircraft without making an update it is nice. It would be awesome to see more aircraft in career, preferably all that are available in free flight hehe. But of course, bugs fix should be a priority because now it is a complete mess.
Yea, I’m specifically really bummed that the Albatross doesn’t seem to get any use in career mode, and the Dornier. Both would be great for seaplane specific missions, but none of those seem to exist either.
Unless I’m missing some certifications and somebody has found the albatross is purchasable.
