“More well”? Admittedly way off topic so you can delete this if you’d like to, Moderator.
Since much of what is written here consists of what we used to basically call belly-aching, I have a minor one of my own that is totally unrelated to MSFS.
Sorry, this is nothing personal - just an observation.
Something creeping insidiously into the English language that jumps out at me every time I see it is the overuse and misuse of the word “more”. It seems to be happening everywhere. I see it on TV, I read it in the news, I see it in on-line forums - more and more use of the word “more”.
“Better” was always the more simple (simpler?) way of expressing “more well” or “more good”. Other examples: “faster” for more fast, “easier” for more easy.
Thank you for your kind and very patient reply! I was prepared to receive some serious stink-eye, or worse.
I am certainly not a great grammarian, as my wife often points out, but every now and then I’ll pick up on little niggling things that just kind of get to me.
I am probably no less guilty, though, for going off on this than many in these forums are who do the same with the MSFS programmers and developers!
Look, you have to realize that complaining is human nature. Not a person alive has never complained. The CAPS comments about XP11 is just an extension of the “take my ball and go home” mentality. This will never change and you complaining about the complainers, and me complaining about you complaining about the complainers will go on forever. We just gotta move on. Peace bro.
Check all your settings including making sure it is connected to a working server. That is freaking horrible.
I’m not talking about the bluryness, I’d expect some bluring at that distance. The building rendering is horrible. I’ve only seen it once when msfs changed settings on me. It was in the photogrammetry area.
Looks like the sim can’t keep up updating the terrain. Easily checked by pausing the game. If the terrain gets better while paused, then its your system (or rather the recent performance crippling changes) that can’t keep up. Fly slower, fly higher, reduce draw distance, get a 15 ghz cpu, or wait for Asobo to improve the software.
PG data is very raw and CPU intensive. Sometimes raising object level of detail can help a bit. The sim downloads the raw data then simplifies it (into horrible spiky mess) to lower the distant detail before rendering it. If it can’t keep up you fly into the zone that’s meant to be on the horizon.
The trick to get nice promo material is to fly at quarter sim rate, then speed up the video. At least that’s the only way I can see it be done
I noticed if I fly GA and climb no more than 20000 ft, photogrametry and ground textures from Bing are displayed. When I fly above 20000 ft, it loads some tiles with ground textures. Sometimes no textures only blured low detail textures. When I begin descent, it displays sharp ground textures and 3D objects when I am below 10-15k ft.
After more than half a year we have first progress on LOD issues, it now has assigned Sim or World update in which it will be possibly fixed. Despite the fact that Sim update VI will be distant future, it’s still better than nothing (aka Under Investigation)… So certainly good news
Melted buildings are very visible even from several miles away and that’s the problem. When the game launched you could only see the melted and geometric buildings if at street level and just feet away, but they looked great at every other distance. Now they are melted and geometric looking from miles away.
