As a trusted dev, can your team not put any pressure on Asobo or Jorg to fix things? Clearly we aren’t hearing much from them, per usual, but hopefully PMDG can throw any type of weight around for your customers.
I hope it all gets sorted out soon. I won’t use 2024 for airliners until the 737 works in it.
Ugh hopefully Asobo gets it together soon so PMDG can do their thing.
Hopefully the 747 is getting a 2020 release because 2024 isn’t looking good on the console side of things
They are aware of the issues and we see them getting solved. Just yesterday they told us an issue we reported with the DC-6 was solved. There are good channels that works well and we would never try to pressure them in these cases.
DrVenkman3876,
Thank you very much for your very detailed answer. I am very dissapointed with situtation. Asobo or whoever must knew lots of things wont work in the sim so they shouldnt start to sell . Millions of us pre-ordered or paid on the day to get a brand new simulator . The outcome is totally disaster . this is like you are buying a new car , going to the salon and they will lwt you know the car doesnt have engine but dont worry you will get it one day. This a scam .
You, me and a lot of people. Things are getting better with time, however. With the Beta of upcoming Sim Update 1, the PMDG 737 is kind of/sort of functional. Cold and dark starts are a big problem, but you can spawn on the runway with the aircraft powered and the engines running, prep the aircraft through the FMC, and make a flight. There are still occasional random WASM crashes however, and likely some other more subtle problems, but you can at least take off and get some idea of performance and functionality. Of course none of this comes with PMDG support - officially their aircraft are not compatible with FS2024 until they figure out all the issues and put out an update.
I know PMDG and other devs are working hard to figure out the new sim and get their planes 100% compatible. But for now, this is why I keep FS2020 installed.
I was watching a you tube video about the PMDG 737 in MSFS 2024 and while it will eventually load , it has to be on the runway all engines running.
Even then it was glitchy and problematic …
Spawning on the active runway is a code violation on VATSIM so its pretty useless for that.
Plus the fact that it is not really functional , personally I wouldn’t even attempt to fly this aircraft in 2024 , until Asobo fix things and make it functional or tell PMDG how to get it to work in the new sim.
Stick to flying it in 2020 ,cold & dark at gate , its an awesome aircraft and fly’s really well in MSFS2020.
Trying to make it work in MSFS2024 is like trying to put a square peg in a round hole !!!
Earliest FS2024 pmdg compatibility I presume June25…

I have a feeling it is going to be longer than that
You can presume anything ![]()
We are hard at work and pretty happy with progress.

PMDG
That’s good news, lets hope you guys can get a 2024 version soon. No PMDG no Flight Sim lol
Im talking from xbox perspective ![]()
We always try to keep the time between a release in our shop and the delivery to Microsoft as short as possible. Unfortunately, once that delivery is done, things are out of our control. Rest assured, we are totally committed to the complete FS24 platform, so PC, Cloud, and Xbox will be handled the same unless there are limitations beyond our control.

i phrased myself little tricky above, I meant it is no pmdg causing any delays but FS 24 itself, which now is rsther construction yard than stable playform. No offence sir.
I’m not concerned with 2024 now because I’m mainly VR and it has lots of work to do. I’m wanting to buy the cheaper 737-900 (for 2020). my concern is reading the reviews, it sounds a little more complicated getting everything set up. I use simbrief which is a big help loading the FMC but not interested in cold and dark. Have they updated any of this??
Updated any of what, exactly? I’m not clear on the nature of your question.
Setting up any of the PMDG 737s is really pretty simple, especially if you use Simbrief. Watch some tutorials - it takes a couple of minutes to set up the aircraft from cold & dark, maximum, if you know what you’re doing. If you’d rather not go through the entire C&D sequence, you can set the plane to load in powered up, with the IRS systems aligned, etc. At that point you simply request the flight info through the EFB, then in the aircraft FMC you set load in the route, set the payload, and set the block fuel, all with just a couple of clicks. Then pushback, startup and depart. Or if you want to start up on the runway, you don’t even need those latter two steps.
That said, this is not the kind of plane you typically just jump in and fly around the countryside like a Cessna. The plane has a deeply-simulated flight management computer system and learnig how to use that system, as well as the rest of the simulated aircraft system like the electrical, hydraulic and pressurization systems, is the whole impetus for most people to buy them in the first place. It takes some time and effort to learn the plane, but it’s worth it.
