Because they are having issues with their back-end servers that handle two factor authentication and license activation. They are temporarily halting sales until those issues get sorted so they don’t continue to contribute to the problem by accepting new sales. Once everything gets sorted, it will be for sale again. Just keep trying.
I think it’s the server’s that are out of stock… chip shortage?
After a 5 or so hour ordeal I finally got it installed. I’m an exclusive VR pilot. First impressions: amazing. Astonishingly good FPS.
I’m a beginning sim airliner pilot. What do you recommend as a tutorial series for the MSFS PMDG 737?
I basically just started the sim with a hot start on the runway for the 737. I noticed that my throttle (honeycomb bravo) causes no response from the in-game throttle in the lowest and highest 10% or so of the motion range of the physical throttle. Is that a bug or a feature, does the throttle axis need to calibrated for the PMDG 737. Throttle response is normal when viewed through the in-sim controlls option menu.
■■■■ i got up early 6AM here in the UK to buy this aircraft and its sill not out ?
PMDG has been releasing the 737 in some form since the early 2000s, so there’s numerous YouTube videos you can find. Another very useful tool are the included manuals, particularly the tutorial flight. It usually does a good job of rapidly introducing the basics to get you flying.
You definitely want to do your homework on this one. These types of complex airliners aren’t the simple “strap in and takeoff” type, and there will be a steep learning curve.
It’s out. Flying into Miami with it now. I hope they get it sorted for you guys/gals ASAP. It really is a good product once you get your hands on it.
Love your vids bro… It’s too bad they didn’t get set up prior to handle the demand… they are getting a lot of bad attention for this launch… but I am sure it won’t hinder sales… can’t imagine what they will rake in on this.
same here (western europe).. still waiting
How do I force it into a cold and dark state? When I start it up in a gate, it already has the avionics, etc up…
So far I am pleasantly surprised with the plane. Haven’t flown PMDG since the NGXu for FSX so I’ve been a lot more used to the more glass cockpit on the FBW and the 787. I think that the ground handling aspect is a bit cumbersome at the moment since you need to do everything from the FMS and the weight and balancing can’t just be imported directly from Simbrief but I think that the later update with the EFB will go a long way to making the setup experience more enjoyable. She flies nicely and I am definitely surprised by how well it performs on FPS. I was expecting for similar PC performance to the FBW due to the complexity of the systems but it definitely runs a lot smoother than the FBW. Gives me hope that one day the FBW will have similar performance with updates.
it’s in the FMS PMDG aircraft options. you can select the states and you can set the states on load as well.
From the manual. You need to go into Panel State Load and select COLDANDDARK
For the default state you just push the button next to the STARTUP STATE until it shows the one you want to have.
I think there is a Panel State setting in the FMC, but I don’t remember exactly the steps to change the default state.
Can I use default ground services?
PMDG are masters in hype + dramaturgy, but weak in delivery. It was to be expected that there would be a rush on the first day, which PMDG caused itself with years of advance notice and permanent delays. This could have been avoided and is now being borne on the backs of customers who have paid but received no service. Unprofessional conduct, not the first time, one could have started the sale staggered
You can but I wouldn’t recommend using the in-game fuel truck since I believe it will mess up the aircraft if you adjust the weight & balance from the in-game menu. I know that the Toolbar Pushback works with it and I’ve been able to use the pre-planned routing as well as the jetway and catering truck.
Seems like higher h/w requirement than other aircraft. No i5’s or 4GB video cards allowed. (just pointing out)
Hardware:
Intel i7 or i9 processor with 8 or more cores operating at 3.5 GHz or faster processor, 16 GB of RAM or higher, a high-performance, DirectX 11 or 12-capable video card with 8 GB or more of on-board, dedicated VRAM. (2080Ti/3080Ti or newer, for example.)
just right now guys..available again…just purchased it
Still pretty windy, but not as bad. The 737 is a fun little aircraft for sure!
Weird about i5 though as that is a very solid GPU with good core speeds.
I went from i7 to i5 as it works better for gaming. Higher core speeds for less money.
Typical PMDG - not an apology for their servers failing but a ‘you guys made it crash - please understand what you did’ message. Most popular addons have these issues on release hour but at least they apologise for being underprepared.
They really need to work on being a bit more likeable. That’s my only gripe with them.
