EFB for people like mer enhance the experience and helps a lot with so many things i still do not have fully understanding. But yes, i´m always willing to learn the hard way to fully understand. Any tips, links are welcome.
Do you use peripherals like Logitech panels or use SPAD.next to drive any peripherals, if so DO NOT UPDATE. The latest version changes the SDK and will stop any peripherals driven by SPAD from working. I believe the Aviaworx CDU was also briefly effected.
I’ve just had to roll mine back to an earlier version as I’ve zero interest in flying it without the functions of my panels.
Ok so something weird is going on… EVERY TIME I try to fly the 737 I get a CTD since the last update… Every other aircraft that I fly works no problem, I have uninstalled every addon except the 737, and still getting CTDs, the only plane…
Anyone else having this issue??? I love this plane and now cannot fly it.
I’m getting a feeling that the EFB, whenever it finally gets released, may be pretty dumbed down (similar to what Aerosoft provided for their CRJ) in hopes that it will push people towards subscriptions.
I can say the first time I loaded after the update, the 737 took 10-15 minutes to load like the first time after purchase. Not sure if that’s normal first load after an update. Second time loading it, msfs stopped responding and I forced quit but not ctd. The final time I loaded it, it loaded as normal. Those are the only 3 times I tried to load it since the last update.
So possibly something going on here. Maybe a clean install of the 737 needed? Only guessing.
That is absolutely normal for any update of the aircraft or the sim. The WASM modules will need to be recompiled after updates, and that applies to all three variants (PAX, cargo and BBJ).
Also for those who are unaware: so long as the “bumper text” at teh bottom of the loading screen is still changing and music is playing, the sim is not frozen. Let the recompile/load continue.
Does anybody know how to get the cabin temperature indicator display in Celsius instead of Farenheit? I’ve looked through the FMC options (equipment and displays) but can’t see it. I swear 737NG Driver had a C display…is it livery dependent perhaps?
Thanks
I upgraded the CPU cooler on my PC today, then inaugurated things with a 40 minute flight from KBUR to KLAS as a test. The new cooler worked great and the plane - as usual - was fantastic. I had some “fun” gusts on very short final that disconnected the AP and I had to quickly take over a few seconds sooner than I was expecting to do anyway. Fortunately, it was easy to get the plane back on the glide and lined up properly.
I’m starting to make some progress mastering this old girl. Just flew from DCA to BOS, a flight I’ve taken many times in RL (god, Terminal A at DCA is an absolute ■■■■-hole).
Robuc Three STAR, about to go “feet wet” over Plymouth, MA
This might be somewhat off topic but for any RL 737 pilots out there - how do you fly “challenging” visual approaches (my favorites are the RWY31 Expressway Visual into KLGA and the Potomac River RWY 19 approach into KDCA)?
Do you on occasion keep the autopilot on and use HDG to follow the approach for a bit? Do you hand fly but keep Auto-Thrust engaged? Or just 100% hand fly the entire approach?
Not a real 737 pilot but the only thing I’ll say is that I doubt they hand fly and keep autothrottle engaged. Correct me if I’m wrong, but afaik Boeing discourages handflying on approach with autothrottle engaged.
This is the Southwest “Freedom One” livery, available on Flightsim.to.
The monitoring software is the Corsair iCUE software for configuring the new CPU cooler I installed on Saturday. It looks nice and works well, though it’s not nearly as configurable as something like HWiNFO64 or MSI Afterburner. But since the Corsair cooler comes with its own controller hub (connected to a spare USB2.0 header internally on the motherboard), it’s the best way to configure pump and radiator fan speeds, monitor coolant temp, and control the RGB effects.
