PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

heck yeah…

Exactly, it is confirmed that the plans of PMDG is start showing the plane and give it to beta testers in September, but we don’t know when.
It could be the 30th, it could be on monday.
Maybe even 1st week of october.

The world is waiting for a study-level airliner for about 13 months now, I really think that there is an urgent need to finally bring a Boeing 737 or a “Jumbo Jet” into the flight sim world.
Why does it take so long? These machines are already there and finished from Captain Sim and PMDG, one might think that it is not that hard and difficult to finally port the iconic 757/767 or 737 over to flight sim

It seems over all aspects people are running out of patience. It’s not PMDG’s fault but core sim bugs and lack of features make people seek for an airliner I guess.

There are 2 payware airliners for MSFS. the DC-6 and the CRJ-7

It doesn’t. It just isn’t finished yet because it’s a lot of work and the platform is only out for a year.

That’s one heck of an assumption.
It just doesn’t work that way, I’m afraid. I’d personally love it if software dev could be easy to port from one platform to another. My life would be an endless dream :rofl:

Hopefully we will have videos out as tutorials before the plane is out, like the DC6. Never touched a PMDG plane before but I have heard how detailed they are. This is definitely a plane I’m going to have to read up on a learn to fly before jumping right into flights across the US.

As a person who flies with only Boeing planes (not in MSFS only, in FSX, XP as well) , i am not gonna touch MSFS until PMDG releases their bird.
I have close to 300 destinations to fly for my world tour. Have been waiting for a proper plane since August 2020.
I expect/wish it to be released during holiday

I have the entire PMDG lineup in P3D. To be honest, I find them all pretty easy - modern Boeings aren’t like a 707 or a 727 or even a 737-300… Those are a lot more challenging for me to deal with in the sims. But the modern ones are pretty simple. All the stuff in default aircraft can be useful, but you will need to supplement it with correct startup procedures and hydraulic/electrical systems knowledge. In terms of NORMAL ops, those aren’t crazy. Failures? Now THAT is something I am not at all comfortable with - I wouldn’t know proper ways of handling those but they are well-documented in their manuals. I just haven’t really flown with any failures - I have them disabled except for the normal wear-and-tear and statistical probability ones.

I assume they want to delay the first screens/videos for as long as possible because once they have shown them they will never be left in peace.

Many people will say they should take all the time they need and then after 2 weeks ask if it comes out this or next month, and then someone will make a petition to release it as a beta version.

I think I understand, they want to delay that nonsense until they are really just 1 month from release, completing the final touches.

So think we may see something soon? Like possibly some screenshots of the plane or possibly videos? I know in a post they mentioned they were going to try and show something off this month. Probably not a release until end of October at the earliest if I had to guess, but maybe we will get a video or some screenshots soon.

Most likely, they still have a few days before then end of september though, I expect them to show the plane in the last week of september and release at the end of october, really hyped, I check their forums everyday.

Well, I read in PMDG forums they will do with 737 what they did with DC6: few weeks before release they will show us the plane in a series of videos in youtube.
For what I know, the plane is entering in beta now. The release announcement should not take long from now.

When is SU6? My guess they will not release it until after SU6 has stabilized. It’s a smart move not to deal with huge upheaval if SU doesn’t go as planned shortly after they release the plane.

Announcements are just for hype. Wake me up when it’s ready. lol

Naah PMDG doesn’t do hype. They are pretty tight lipped in that respect. They do provide updates and follow thru on those 98 percent of the time.

Sooooooo where are the “hyped” september 737 pictures now ?

First anounce … now silence

Ah well they still have a few minutes :victory_hand:

A few minutes? PMDG are in the US Eastern time zone. They still have over 6-1/2 hours.

September was wishful thinking on this forum. It was never mentioned by PMDG unless someone can show the announcement.

It was mentioned on their update in the General section of the forum on 31/08, which is a pinned post. They said something to the effect of “we’re pretty sure we will be able to show it to you this month”. People took it to mean they would definitely be showing some updates.
