PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 1)

100% agree with everything you said.

Getting back on topic, I feel this week will be the calm before the storm, the anticipation for some RSR video content, the wait for the first streamer.
Then this thread will be hard to keep up with.

Can’t wait.

Intense! Only my new Intenso SSD is worthy enough for this airplane. Maybe some day we will also get a weather radar for the CRJ. But first all focus will be on the 737 and the Fenix Airbus

That is actually terrain not weather…

Oh ehm… sorry I have not much experience with a 737 and the last time I have flown one was in 2009 or so during the FSX era.
The hex weather radar of the Garmin3000 looks almost the same as this 737 terrain radar

I can’t wait for the HUD.
I know that it’s not for everyone, or very many at all, but I love it.
That’ll be my go-to view for most of the time on this beauty.

Just like in the CRJ a HUD is perfect for flying and landing.
Well the 737 has automatic thrust control which makes the HUD not as crucial as in the CRJ where the airspeed must be observed every second to prevent stalling - but the HUD is still a very practical element because just like the airspeed the climb or sink rate must be controlled too at all times during the landing.
One cannot look down somewhere into the cockpit and outside the window during the landing at the same time in a simulator that´s why I personally want the sinkrate and the airspeed in my viewcone visible at all times.
Only a HUD can do this.

I dont fly the CRJ without it.

Just dont fly during rainy days. Turns out the HUD is on the outside of the aircraft (or rain on the inside).

But yeah, its a 737 thread. Can’t wait for that B738

I’m looking forward to flying the 700 variant the most

You should dim the HUD at night. This is way too bright.

I might also fly the 600 as well because I already flew the 737 800 the most in fsx and I’d love to fly some of the other versions I only go the the max 8 when that’s out saving the 8 series for the max

We edge ever closer to release, expect youtube videos starting today. Also appears we will know a day in advance of release, the team is cautious of pending SU9 stability

Update can be read here

Ignore the 17th AUG date in the snapshot of the link was a typo on Roberts behalf

Can’t wait to see those videos and other content.

Well they get a nice clear 3+ month stretch until Su10 drops which is shaping up to be a really massive update. So there is that. If Su9 doesn’t throw up any curve balls then that’s their release window.

You’d like to think they actively test and build on the beta of SU9 like other developers do

Getting a bit tired from developers who think we still need to be hyped after 2+ years of waiting for their products.

I won’t be watching any of them streamers anyway, getting access to these products only because they have their online followers. Just shut up and take my money already. We’ve been way too hyped, combined with way too desperate, to enjoy watching others flying what we so deeply want by now.

I’m curious as well

Nah the update is out … more off the usual. Waiting for SU9 blah blah … no pricing no date

Only good news is that the hyping now is with video’s ( starting tomorrow ) …

Sigh

I can’t believe more developers don’t have a second computer or at least a second bootable partition on a single machine running these SU betas. Sure, it’s an hour’s worth of work to get another machine up and running, but they’d know in a hot minute if a Sim Update breaks something. It’s one thing for a 2-3 man part-time operation like DC Designs to have the first SU9 beta break their brand new plane two days after it hits the market. But PMDG has been a much bigger going concern for a very long time now. Robert owns his own DC-3 FFS. If he can keep that airworthy, his company can pony up $1,500 for a spare mid-tier machine just for basic compatibility tests.

Too much cross-engagement between users, not enough General Discussion of the product.

The lack of a release date doesn’t give free passes for bored hands to engage each other in non-compliant behavior.

Keep it on the rails or it gets shut down. Last time folks.
