The dc6 works well. Some bugs in there but very smooth frame rate on console and it’s decent fidelity. Not sure how that compares to the 737 in terms of demand on the system.
I’ve not had one CTD with it and have notched up a fair chunk of hours.
One thing I will say is that I always re-boot the game before a flight so there might be something in that. I was getting a few issues flying back to back and that’s not just high fidelity products but all aircraft.
I do the same if the LOD looks poor. Full console and game re-boot and it seems to fix the problem.
Nice if it is today for those that want it day 1. For me I’m going to wait a week or to after release, mainly because I can’t afford it at the moment, just ordered a flight stick as well so need to save up a little.
All - Not an XB user, but for your sakes, I trust PMDG to work like the blazes to get it to work. My gut tells me they have tested and tested in their lab with lots of them to see if it’s going to work. They have also farmed it out to a team IRL on XB to test it. You can tell when good companies build things and when bad companies do, and I have their 737-700 on PC and it’s a wonderful plane. You will be happy. They do not rush things to market, they take the time to do it correct. Will their be some bugs, yes, as we are all human.
Ok, for those of us who are old, please do not use abbreviations who’s definition none of us old people know. At least spell it out one time, so we get it. AAU2? ATR is a plane and A310 is plane.
First PMDG builds planes as close to real life as possible short of being in the cockpit. They model the plane almost perfectly. Aside, not being in a real 6-8-10 way simulator, their models are about number 1 in the world. Quality Wings to my knowledge has NOT released any planes into this sim, and I could be wrong, they are also very good. DC Designs, planes are “they say” not study level, but they are real close. I fly both the F-14B in this sim, and the F-14D in X-Plane 12, and there are some differences, but not too many, except cockpit is way busier in the XP one.
I’m on Xbox X. My go to a/c have been A310 and ATR. Currently running AAU2 and enjoying the 747-8. What are the main differences with PMDG 737 that would make it worth buying?
Compared to the A310, it’s the typical “Boeing v. Airbus” thing. That is a very real thing, btw. Different system terminology, different procedures, different ways of doing things. The ATR is nice but it’s not nearly as complex or accurate a simulation of systems and procedures as either the A310 or 737.
BTW, on my now-midrange PC (i7-11700KF + RTX 3070), the A310 is harder on my frames and smoothness than is the PMDG 737. So if you can run the A310 well, the 737 should run well also, probably even better.
I’ve experienced some of the Airbus vs Boeing differences with the couple of flights in the 747-8 and the AAU2 updates. I didn’t like the look and feel of the 787 but I’ll probable give that a try soon as well.
finally the first best simulator plane arive after A310 thx if this plane not come i will go over to pc serilsy we missing to much on xbox anyway so goods planes
I’m thinking to get the 800 variant, as I recently flew in one on my holidays, and it seems like more of them have been built. Waiting a week or two though in any case.
I just bought the 800, won’t have time to fly it tonight but doesn’t look like there are any liveries unfortunately. PMDG must still be working on that solution.
Was an instant buy for me tonight… till I discovered there are no liveries! No mention of them either so a £59 product could easily become £100 once you’ve added a decent collection of schemes. Sorry, but until I know for sure how I’m going to add liveries, I ain’t buying. Might not be PMDG’s fault… but it sure ain’t mine either!
My understanding is a livery product is coming from PMDG for $4.99. They just couldn’t include it as part of the base product and didn’t want to delay it further for liveries.
