PMDG Boeing 777 status

If purchased direct fom PMDG, 77W and 77F are already available in OC3, but only available to install for FS2020. 2024 versions will become available free of charge for existing customers in the next month or two as the conversion/rebuild process for each is completed.

It’s 2024. Somewhere in the settings in the EFB you need to authenticate your navigraph login. You might not need to do it in 2020 because it remembers the login from the other PMDG products, but that’s just me guessing.

Here is a picture of the EFB Settings page with a red “line” around the authentification you need to use.

OMG totally didn’t see the scroll bar to the right of the UFT! It’s done now, but will wait till at the gate before updating the database. Thank you for the vertical screen grab!

Be advised. I noted that after updating the navdata, when I clicked on the navdata icon again in the UFT it said I’m out of date, even though I wasn’t any longer.

I haven’t checked to see if that still happens after a subsequent load into the aircraft.

Same here, thanks!

So long as the FMC shows the correct cycle on the IDENT page, it’s just a parsing issue between Navigraph and the Tablet. This came up a week or two ago in 2020 as well and Navigraph took a couple of days to correct it.

Anyway, I was able to load into FS2024 and then the aircraft this morning. Can’t fly now - should be working anyway, but this thing is amazing. And 90-100+ FPS sitting at the gate at Flightbeam KSFO? chef’s kiss

Arrived at Newark after hand flying the transition from the STAR to the ILS and wow, very nice to hand fly and while I do so in 2020, in 24 it is just that much better! PMDG got so much right for this launch, from pre-purchase through purchase and downloads into both sims from OC3. Kudos! And well worth the wait too.

On my first load of the 777 since last night’s initial load, I no longer get the warning that the navdata is out of date. It must have just been that first use case.

Mate… OMG!!! One airline and three words…
Air New Zealand :new_zealand: !!!

If there is a Air NZ livery or…, wait until one pops up and…,
Enjoy all of your classic three to four hour island hops from Auckland to the Pacific and to all of your key airports on the eastern Australia seaboard… with pmdgs brilliant use of “sim-rate” those three-four hours will essentially become 30 minute commuter hops
Then…
Well.. the world is your 772er air nz oyster :rofl: see what i did there
All your current long haul flights you will see our 773 birds on.. as our 772 birds unfortunately didn’t survive the “19” cull…
Actually…
All of our current 773 routes and 789 long haul routes except the Auckland to Chicago/New York…
All of the typical American/Argentina/Asia/London/Canada flights you see right now, were all operated on proper scheduled flights by the 772s at least once in their lifetime for air nz…
Oh.
You could even go full global and do the Auckland-Lax-LHR-Hong Kong- Auck/spice it up and change the start/end point with Christchurch/Wellington round the world that Air NZ used to do with the 772… minus the Wellington/Christchurch end of course…

Edit!!! Mix it up and fly from Christchurch and Wellington to all your aussie and Pacific destinations as well!!

At first I thought you were mistaken having NZWN Wellington on your list with a 5955’ runway, but sure enough there are instructions on the main chart that mention taxi instructions for B777s and other heavies. This is one of the most scenic airports around, so I’ll have to add it to my list with short hops from Auckland and Christchurch (I don’t strictly abide to real-world routes).

Sadly looks like Queenstown is a no-go with this beast, though.

So as a burgeoning airliner pilot in 2024, uh, how do I pushback? I used to be able to do this via the FMS in the 737 in 2020, but I’m seeing that as greyed out in the 777 in 2024.

I see no option for ground operations in the default ATC and I’m using BATC for actual ATC.

Help!

The passengers are getting upset.

Since the ATC window is messed up in SU2 beta, I have been using either:

Slew mode using keyboard commands to position post-push, or

Shift-P in the 2020 keyboard. There may be a command in the 24 keyboard?

Ah, right, I’d forgotten about the key command. I’d had that mapped to the Xbox controller I use for the steering tiller. I’ll check for 2024.

Thanks!!

(Found it, default 2024 keyboard ALT-P)

Cool! So this also informs choice of departure gate. In addition to looking for the Heavy gates, now I look for one with a straight shot, if possible. Imagination is my copilot LOL!

This was literally the sole reason why Qantas brought the 747sp… not literally the only reason but very close to being a reason…
Also…
With those collapsing block things that will soon to be added at each end of Wellington airports runway.. that will potentially open up the safety regulations on A350s to use Wellington airport at almost full capacity not to mention that Singapore airlines operated a 777-200er flight via Melbourne/Canberra to Wellington…
Air nz has even landed their emtpy 747-400s a couple of times in the past for events and one offs

Unfortunately, the ALT-P pushback results in the tug connecting to the aircraft, but the aircraft doesn’t move.

Chocks removed, parking brake released.

Argh.

EDIT:

Got that sorted after redoing my brake axis bindings (why?! This sim…).

Wow, is this quite the aircraft. PMDG is so impressive with what they accomplish.

Ok, my first flight was KIAD - KIAH with United P&W (MSFS2024 SU1) and I absolutely love it. It’s nice to have the PMDG quality triple seven back in a flightsim. I can’t wait to have the 737NG’s back too.

Interesting tidbit…the P&W and RR-engined planes are capable of simultaneous engine starts. GE is not.

Which airport is this?
