ooooh finally have arrived to EGLL ![]()
Very good flight without problems, after my last one 23 years ago. EGLL with night and little lower cloud coverage but good landing on 27L. Love it…

FYI, for those who use AviaCDU, Mark at AviaWorx has already updated the program to support the 777. Grab the latest version from his site, update your install, and then request a license. For the 777 CDUs, it’s $11.50USD / €10. Works great on my second monitor, a tablet, phone, etc.
I maybe confused and wrong, apologies, but why are you using msfs payload screen, that is not necessary with pmdg.
You just use the FCU or EFB with simbrief.
Happy for people to chime in and say I am wrong.
I have never used payload screen for PMDG or most good payware products.
GSX profile was shipped with the plane, you can find it in \Community\pmdg-aircraft-77w\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 777-300ER\gsx.cfg
The problem is they didn’t pay much attention to it. It’s a terrible profile and requires manual editing to fix cargo and passenger doors.
And no, it’s not integrated with GSX like Fenix or even 737.
You should never use the sim’s default weight and balance controls for PMDG aircraft. Set this info via the FMC.
ok, i should not use sim’s default weight and balance for pmdg aircraft, but why i can’t set max fuel even in the FMC?
Is your FMC SET LBS OR KGS?
145,523kg of Jet A fuel equals 181,904 litres. This is more or less what B777 specification says about max fuel capacity 181,280 litres.
Your FMC says your tanks are filled in 100%. You need to take some jerry cans on board if you want more fuel.
Does anybody here use a separate tiller? I chose Tiller+Rudder option in configuration, but my aircraft just moves either straight forward or reverse, I could not steer to left or right, neither with tiller nor rudder pedal at low or high speed. I do not have brake issue like some others though.
Use a Turtle Beach stick for my tiller, had no steering issues last night. Literally just have nose wheel steering axis assigned to it. Rudder+Tiller selected.
It is strange, I would test again tomorrow and see what happened. Probably key/button mapping conflict somewhere, but I‘m unable to figure out at the moment!
I like the 777. Flew from Frankfurt to Gatwick without problems. It inspires somehow to cross the Atlantic.
I finally did get it installed. I had to remove a freeware antivirus/protection software that a prior internet service provider insisted you had to have running on your computer. That was blocking popups beyond what Edge was already blocking.
But now this has been such a hassle getting this installed, I have absolutely no interest in even trying a flight. It just shouldn’t have been a 2 day ordeal to buy and install an addon.
Can’t for the life of me get autopilot to engage. Can fly hands off on the Fenix and 737-800 but the 777 is giving me fits.
Simbrief integration, I’ve aligned properly, purple lines and waypoints show up on display which reflect the FMC route, flight plan look good, flight director on, and the AP, LNAV and VNAV buttons light up on the panel. The alignment does appear to happen instantly though which kinda surprised me….
But the plane just goes straight and no vertical or lateral adjustments whatsoever. Even heading mode doesn’t work. Altitude hold no go.
Auto thrust is all that works.
I’m sure there is some user error on my part but not sure what it is. If anyone has any trouble shooting ideas let me know. Just odd as autopilots are usually a breeze for me.
(As an aside does the yoke auto move without input when auto pilot engaged in the 777? I assume yes but my cockpit yoke only responds to my moving it. Throttle moves with auto thrust).
Just to confirm, the B777 has no contrails correct ? I‘m just cruising at FL340 and can’t see anything.
Check Simulation options in the FMC. AP engagement - is it on realistic?
IRS can align immediately if set so. That’s also in the simulation options.
I’d say, if you think you’re doing everything right, try emptying your community folder.
Contrails work fine.
I’ve drawn up my own quick start reference guide for my own ref. DM if you want a copy to check it against. Or if anyone else wants it for that matter. It may change as I only just threw it together but it got me off the ground and across the pond last night. AP worked fine. Did you press the TOGA quick start screw head to take off? It engages A/T and TOGA mode. The FMC does need setting up first (much like their 737) so that VNAV works properly with the AP. Can’t think why it wouldn’t engage otherwse.
Just a tip for any, third party aircraft of high level such as this …
And especially if they have a option on their respective efbs to fuel and load up the plane…
Never, never ever use the default sim loading page…
It can completely fuge everything up and sometimes you’ll have to end the session…
If there is an option to load through the efb and it’s a plane of high level of detail…
Always use that efb for anything/everything weight/fuel related..
