PMDG Boeing 777 status

I have just updated the GSX pro with the new feature of seated passengers for the PMDG 737 and 777 but there has been no change for me. Pax enter the aircraft as usual and disappear. No one on either of these aircraft walk to seats and are seated. I have no issues on the Fenix A320. What am I doing wrong?

Have you enabled the animated passenger for PMDG planes from the GSX installer? They wont show by default.

yes I have

I haven’t tried the 777 and seated passengers yet, but on the MD-88 the seated passengers worked for me first time, but then on subsequent flights they only walked on and didn’t get seated and I have no idea why as it is enabled in the FSDT installer config. I will try the 777 sometime soon though. Maybe something ask on GSX thread though as it probably isn’t related to the 777 specifically. Or maybe the config need reset after every new 777 update? Just guessing, I don’t know.

EDIT: I just tried launching the FSDT installer and went to config and the first thing (and last thing when you hit ‘close’) it does without me touching another button is it updates those aircraft layout configs for seated passengers, so I’m guessing if a 777 update rolls in this part needs to be refreshed again in the FSDT installer. It’s certainly worth a try.

That’s correct behaviour and a known threat of VS mode. Pilots are used to this and immediately verify that the speed is set to what they need (IAS or MACH).

Passengers work for me but not sure if there is a FPS hit. Anyone done calculations? I mean it is cool but I dont think it is worth losing FPS over :).

From what I understand, the GSX passengers are not rendered when you’re not actually viewing the cabin.

Yes, anytime one of the three supported aircraft - PMDG 777, 737, and Fenix A320 - are updated, you’ll need to go into the GSX installer and uncheck/recheck the passenger loading options so it updates the layout.xml file(s).

( As someone brand new to GSX, I learned by fire as the dev fixed a major issue on-the-fly with the 737, i.e. GSX was corrupting this file.)

So no memory hit either? I did not use any measurment so I wasn’t sure about it.

Did you open the cockpit door?

What is the max number of passengers in the PMDG 777 ? The default Smibrief profile has 386, and the sum of pax in 1st, business and economy in the FMC is 370. Is the extra 16 crew and pilots ? In the Simbrief profile from Awemeter the max passengers is 370 which matches the FMC.

Did you select the PMDG airframe?

Great aircraft, luckily I had spent time in the 737.

Yes, PMDG has done it again. :crown:
I am so happy with all the updates to the 777 that PMDG has been putting out.
Great work and it shows.

Why all brake temps 0.0 after landing with Autobrake MAX?

Another disappointment to add to the many with this aircraft.

One thing I’ve been noticing even after the .41 update is that increasing the ND range of both the PF and the NPF directly affects the performance of the simulation. Have you noticed this? with a range greater than 40nm there is a degradation in performance.

TIL the pen clicks…

All the pens click, this was not a healthy discovery for the rest of the household.

Hey, XBox and PC Marketplace aficionados, this one’s for you:

The 77W will do an autoland on a regular ils (I.e. not a CAT II or III). Is this normal procedure?

Basically yes. From the pilot’s perspective, ILS categories I, II and III are really about minimums and visibility requirements. The aircraft itself doesn’t know which is which. You set the approach in the APP page as the ILS for the runway you want, set the minimums and that’s basically it. Autoland functionality of the aircraft doesn’t really take anything else into account.

The details of why one particular runway has a Cat II or III available are a bit more technical. Here’s what one of the 777 FCOM’s I’ve got have to say:
