PMDG DC-6 Major Problem on Xbox

Then we must say “Great work guys. We all thank you.”

If you could test addons on an Xbox, everybody could just use a developer mode xbox and install addons from the freeware market.

You cannot.

You can only test on PC and believe what MS/Asobo is telling you on how to code an addon so that it works on Xbox.

It is crazy if this is true… poor developers!

Same here, I can only move the rudders and parking brake. None of the other buttons and switches move or operate.
The Flight Engineer can start the engines but I can’t control elevators or anything. Gust Lever is locked.

It’s not the developers fault. It’s a problem with Microsoft.

It probably worked fine before last week…

Every new Software Update is a nightmare for people who spend much money on marketplace…like me.

So, just dont spend your money there? On PC you have so many stores to choose from, why you chose the worst to spend your money?

the xbox peepz have nowhere else to go : )

Because there is no other way to get add-ons on Xbox.

Brought this on PC and don’t seem to have an travel on the yoke either, unless I’m missing something.

Gust lock.

Alrighty then time to dig into the manual I guess.

This is a checklist with the AFE

Cheers just assumed if I hit ‘ready for take off’ it’d be, well, ready for take off.

Learning is fun.

just sharing this with you, Robert is the CEO of PMDG.

I see. They still do not know what is the root cause. They do not know how to reproduce it :frowning: .
It is silly when most of people who enter this topic can tell you exactly how to reproduce this issue.

I was and still am very much looking forward to a good airliner on Xbox MSFS 2020 and from the little I know PMDG seems to be the best partner to deliver this. Feeling the pain of those that paid top money for a plane that is not responding I hope solutions are found and we can keep positive for a better future:

For those that haven’t seen it on PMDG forum they ask those that experience those major issues to report:

  1. Which XBox are you using?
  2. What type of controller are you using? (including brand, if applicable)
  3. How is your controller connected to your XBox?
  4. What other hardware controllers do you have connected to your Xbox?
  5. Any other patterns you have noticed?

That is the best way we can hope for better planes in the future so do report it on PMDG!

Big updates like SU7 often break 3rd party products. Just have to wait for the 3rd party devs to figure out what Asobo changed and then develop a fix for their own product. I’m not a great fan of Bredok’s aircraft but he does at least seem to respond fairly quickly with updates when things get broken with an update.
How long it then takes Microsoft to get that fix onto the marketplace is out of their hands. Sadly they have been a little slow with this in the past. (I have the Eurofighter, bought from an external vendor. Have seen fixes appear within a couple of days after an SU which then take an extra couple of weeks to get into the Marketplace. This is not th le dev, this is all Microsoft, it’s their store.

The PMDG statement linked indicates that indeed it has been reproduced and the quote below from that statement would seem to imply that in fact they have an idea where the problem lies…

“the current belief is that this is an XBox/Simulator interaction and not directly a DC-6 issue- the QA folks at Microsoft/XBox asked us to also have you go here and fill out as much information in a report as you can:”

I’m curious, is the DC-6 working for anybody on Xbox ?
