There is no difference in FPS.
Does the Xbox controller work OK with this now? PC version. Thanks.
Iām not sure if you are aware, but you can boost the DC-6ās performance quite a bit (around 15-20 fps for me!) by using the developer mode and switching on the āNanoVG for XML Gaugesā in the Options of the developer mode menu.
The only downsides to that are that the digital display on the radio is a bit oversized and I believe the logbook doesnāt log the flight (I donāt use the logbook anyway ⦠itās way too buggy to be of any use whatsoever).
Wasnāt that enabled by default in a recent patch? At least for some types of gauges.
Not sure ⦠Iāve been using the developer mode with NanoVG enabled exclusively for the last few months, so I wouldnāt have noticed a difference. I do know, however that they said that NanoVG is the default mode on XBox and also will become the default on the PC as well. I donāt know if that time has come already, though.
The DC-6 still suffers from a lower frame rate when not switched to NanoVG unfortunately. Iāve been avoiding it due to people claiming it causes more CTDs - can anyone confirm this? Would love to have my frames back to where they should be.
Anyone? Trying to workout whether to purchase. Thanks.
there is no magic for it. just wait for the 737 hype is over. then pray for it
As far as I know it is not enabled by default. I thought it would stick to enabled once set in developer mode so you can exit afterwards.
Iām pretty sure exiting dev mode un-does any settings like that. What would be a better approach would be to find out where the setting lives in a config file and just edit that.
This is from April 28th Dev Update:
DevMode:
- We now force NanoVG use for XML Gauges even when DevMode is not active.
Which is weird for them to say as itās clearly not, even if you go into dev mode and turn it on. At least thatās been my experience.
hmhh, I set it on a few weeks ago. Never touched dev mode again but once last week to test the fenix performance. I mean nanovg was still activated but am unsure now.
Developer update notes are for works in progress and not implemented yet, so this change wonāt be in effect until you see it in Release Notes for a future update.
The 737 hype will even rise as soon as PMDG patches these two visual flaws/bugs in their VC cockpit that make the 737 currently unflyable for me⦠Oh I can already hear the rails singing the next 737 hype train must be so near
Hi all. I watched this DC-6 video because it is a very recent production and I figured it would represent the current state of the aircraft. In the video, the GPS would not work and the Nav radio would not pick up the VOR signal even when he was close to the station. I havenāt purchased this aircraft yet and was wondering, are there issues like this present in the module now or was this a problem that is limited to the pilot in the video?
I fly the 6 with GPS disabled and only VOR to VOR. Do not have any troubles with catching VORs or ILS signals. Cannot speak about GPS however.
Thank you for the response. I appreciate the feedback on the question.
gps is working but somehow i am experiencing instant loss of glideslope and plane tends to nose down just before the touchdown
I think the plane doesnāt have the capibility of doing an automatic glidepath. Thatās because of the MSFS GPS that is used, that it even attempts it.
I fly it VOR to VOR. It does approach an ILS when the GPS is not chosen as equipped in the cockpit, but you have to do the sinkrate manually.
At least that is my understanding.
I havenāt used GPS in it in many months, not sure if there are any issues with it.
