PMDG Douglas DC-6

It’s anything but. If you could get past that you would notice there is often some serious aviation discussion going on.

I’m with you on this. Beautiful aircraft, love to watch her flying overhead, very little interest in actually flying her, especially at “study level”.

Hence the price tag is too much for me. Patiently (just) waiting for a more modern study level airliner offering, then I will splash €€/££.

Still tempted by the CRJ, especially after watching excellent Filbert Flies tutorial with real life CRJ pilot yesterday.

The CRJ is definitely worth the money. Really enjoyable plane that gives you enough to do for a while (while not as in depth as the PMDG planes will be)!

You also should give VR a try.
The HP Reverb G2 is a good choice (high res required - first gen VR is useless), if you want to find out, whether you like it or not.
For me and several others it was (along with MSFS 2020) the true game changer bringing me back into simming.
There is no way to anticipate the immersion other than trying it by yourself.

Indeed, and it was good that he was answering questions on things such as what FPS he was getting as well, and also showing things like the night lighting. The guys excited and enthusiastic about the aircraft as a lot of us are, so I see nothing wrong with that. Good on him, I’ll no doubt be the same later. We’re getting to see and hear more of this gorgeous aircraft while waiting for release.

Still, each to their own but I’ll take this any day over someone doing a ten minute flight with a slack handful of screenshots and random comments thrown in for likes, which is far more worthy of being considered ‘aimed at kids’.

What time does PMDG normally start working?

I couldn’t cope with it either. Stopped after a couple of minutes. It’s just not my style.

The reason Vatsim and IVAO thrive, is that there is simply no comparison to having a live human at the other end of the microphone. In the constantly changing ATC environment, computers aren’t sufficient.

I have tried various solutions over the decades, and simply bin them after a few minutes. Give me actual ATC every time.

If I’m correct it is 7.15 AM in Alexandria, Virginia. Time to wake up for PMDG. You are allowed to get some coffee, get to the office, and then please release this aircraft asap

For our European cousins who have been up for a while already… a little appetizer to ease the wait for the main course… bon appetite!

Does the DC-6 come with a Red Bull livery or is it left up to freeware painters to provide it?

Karl

it does come with the red bull livery

It was juuuuust possible in P3D and X-Plane, so we’ll see if it can be done in MSFS, landing it there is the real challenge. When the DC-6 first came out and it was X-Plane only it was one of the first tiny airports I tried to squeeze it into.

I dunno but from my experience with Steam a release on Friday Jun 18 usually means they release late in the day, which will then be night time in Europe.

I would not hit the refresh button right now.

You are really bad :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: :sob: :sob: :sob:

its better to totally make your own flightplan, including start of decent points.
