PMDG flight plan

I tried making a flight plan from KBUF to KMSP, but the route stops before it’s distination. I first made a plan in simbrief, & brought it up in the 737. I did dep/arr, & checked the legs getting rid of any discontinuity. What could I be doing wrong?

You may have a waypoint called “vectors” or “vecto” or something along those lines? What that does is that the FMC is expecting flight plan vectors from ATC.

If you delete the vector waypoint, your flight plan will be fixed, though you also may need to delete some discontinuities

Thanks, I got rid of two “vectors”, no discontinuities, but same result.

Just do the tutorial flight. There’s a specific way to load the CDU (RTE->DEP->activate->route->ARR->exec)

Is this on youtube done by the pmdg 737 pilot ?

TwinklyTangent4 - The tutorial flight is addressed in a PDF file found in your “Community\pmdg-aircraft-737\Documentation” folder. The PDF will take you through the essential steps required for a flight.

Just so you realize, when the plan has “VECTOR” and a heading, it’s because that’s how some particular phase of the approach is flown in real life. The plane will follow the STAR (standard terminal arrival) until the VECTOR leg. At some point while flying that vector, local airport Approach or Tower ATC will then contact you and give you a heading or a direct waypoint to fly to intercept the localizer/final approach course. How long you fly that vector before you get turned toward the approach course will vary based on local traffic and weather conditions.

If you still need help understanding, load up an ADS-B app or flight tracking site for a medium-sized or larger airport, while also listening to LiveATC in real-time. You can watch and listen to flights flying these same STARs and vector legs, then being turned in to land in real-time.

I don’t subscribe to airac, so maybe that’s why it’s not working for me ?

That is very possible. Simbrief might be generating some waypoints that isn’t found in your nav data.

You can “rollback” nav data on Simbrief so that it’s version matches what your 737 is using

As near as I can find, fs 2020 is using AIRAC cycle 2204, & simbrief is 2103. Sure wish pmdg 737, crj, could use the sims plan editor. :disappointed:
