PMS50 GNS530 mod

@ScorpionFilm422

Do you have any idea if you are able to improve the Nav 5 screen, with the Frequencies.
Currently it is pretty useless, as it does not tell you what the frequency is for-- just the location.

So I still have to use something else to find Controller Frequencies.. etc when I should be able to easily select the one I want on the GPS, and transfer it to standby.

( ILS frequencies are the only ones that have a meaningful description)

I believe you may already have it on your To-Do list ??

I assume you mean as a feature in the game? As, in real life, it would point to the radio tower… That would be pretty cool. Though, I can’t say I remember the last time I listened to AM radio, haha

And, yeah, when I fly, I’ve got full aviation databases in my phone and a tablet, as well as a paper map, just, cause, as the planes I fly only have the 1 GPS (530 in one, GPS 175’s/GNX 375’s (I forget which) in the others), along with Dual Nav, so, in any event, not all is lost.

Would need a database of radio towers … if the ADF was going to work, and i assume the App could drive the ADF needle via simconnect. MSFS’s kernel is not going to help much.

Easy to get for the USA – other countries may be more difficult ..

That might take care of pointing the needle in the right direction, but then we’d need some kind of a callout to the station’s live feed to hear them by turning the ADF on in the radio panel.

I’m not expecting this to happen, and until I can get my VR fps cranked up to at least 40 in places like on approach into Tokyo Int’l with photogrammetry Tokyo itself in the background I wouldn’t want to ā€œspendā€ even 0.1 fps on something like that. (I just flew that approach, btw, and was in the low 20s, doable, but very, very marginal…)

I’m hoping I can get there with driver updates, MSFS optimizations, and figuring out how to get my settings PERFECT, but I suspect at some point it’s going to take a new CPU, GPU, or both. And I’ve got a 10600K paired with a 2070 Super, both overclocked. And both less than 6 months old.

I’m on the razor’s edge with my overclocks on both, they’re stable (4.8GHz all-core on the CPU, +175/+1000 on the GPU), but even a tick more and I start with the BSODs left and right. I know that because I keep trying, and it keeps not working lol…

Ouch.

I just installed the latest version of this fantastic mod, but, maybe I missed something, all avionics are dead. Black screens for the Garmins and no AP and ransponder. Turned avionics swirches on and off, nothing. Am I doing something wrong? Did the latest version implement a ON/OFF-switch?

Hello
Nothing changed here. How did you install?
Did you follow the install procedure in the documentation?
Be sure to get the last release with the link given in the documentation or at the top of this topic.
We already got this issue with people downloading the sources instead of the release.

GNS530 Mod documentation

Yes I have an idea. I can’t do anything here. These names are given by the sim. You may have the same issue with other aircraft and different GPSs I suppose.

I downloaded from github, pressed the green CODE button and then chose: download zip. The earlier verslons I used gave no problems.

OK, so Asobo will need to improve things at their end, so the facility function can be got for these frequencies, and not just a general Facility Name.
(Not holding my breath – but since it is probably an issue for the more ā€œuser popularā€ G1000, if they fix that so the g1000 can function correct;y, there will be a spin off for the smaller gps systems.
Add that to needing a away to find Airport ICAO code, for a given runway ILS !!!

You cannot do that. This is written in the documentation.
You have downloaded the source code and not the release. The release contains some more files (environment) that may differ from one version to the other

Please follow the documentation for installation.

This must be very frustrating and a big waste of support time for any Github developer !!

You would not walk into a a car factory, and take an incomplete car of the assembly line, and expect it to be fully finished, tested, and working as expected.

Same with GitHub.. you cannot expect to take a program version that is still in development, and expect it to be fully working.

The Car factory probably has security to stop you doing this.

Maybe GitHub should have more ā€œsecurityā€ to be able to stop ā€œunauthorized visitorsā€ from "taking/downloading " unfinished code.

Sorry for my mistake, will check the documentation again.

Just got a CTD loading a flight plan. This one: fpl1.pln (3.5 KB)

I cannot reproduce the issue. Your flight plan is loading successfully here.

Interesting. Ok thanks for checking anyway. Love your mod

Hi,

is OBS working in the GNs Mod?

Does this mod eliminate the bug which suddenly decides to not recognize the fact that there is a heading to follow and the autopilot is indeed engaged and yet it suddenly banks either left or right into a death turn?

uncommanded turns from the autopilot happen to me in real life in my DA40 with the 530 so I would say this is very realistic!

I didn’t know Asobo had the contract with Garmin IRL. Makes sense then. Disregard.

Yes I think so
I’ve not had this since using any of the WT Garmin mods
