PMS50 GTN750 Project

When I added an approach and a constraint mid flight, the flight plan reset to the first leg. The auto pilot (in NAV mode)then turned the plane around to go back to that leg until I went back in and selected the correct leg.

Would this be considered part of the known issue listed in the documentation?

Adding and removing waypoints is still buggy at the kernel level especially when an
approach is loaded. We have to wait for Asobo to fix that. We advise to add your enroute
waypoints before loading an approach.

which aircraft?
did you turn off the U-turn bug workaround in the GTN750 options page?
Which flight plan?
which version of the GTN750?

Carenado Piper PA-44
No, the U-Turn bug workaround is enabled.
KHHG DCT YAVUS V96 FWA V340 HALIE V8 CGT V7 THORR V228 OBK KPWK/OBK.I16
2.0.13 Premium

I am trying it again and I was incorrect about it starting from the beginning. But it goes back to FWA → CUDRU (on V340) each time.

where did you load the approach?
I just need the exact steps to reproduce the issue.

In the air when it first happened I don’t recall. But I just tried it on the ground by setting my leg farther ahead and then loading the approach.

Ok I have loaded your flight plan including the approach. It seems correct.
So how do you reproduce the issue?

The first time I had put the plan in and then took off without the approach. I put the approach in after I flew a little bit.

I reproduced it on the ground by loading the plan without the approach, selecting one of the last legs, then adding the approach to ILS16. When I loaded the approach the active leg went back to FWA → CUDRU.

I can’t reproduce that, at least on the groud. Now, I’m on SU6 beta so I suggest you to wait for SU6 and test it again.

Ok, thanks.

For now I just put the AP in HDG mode when I add or make changes to the flight plan.

If it happens after SU6 ill take a video of the whole process.

Anyway, switching to HDG while changing your FP is a good way to proceed, especially if you change you current leg.

@ScorpionFilm422 Any plans to be able to run the GTN750 in a browser external to the sim, with touch support?

No chance in an external browser because of the technology involved.
The solution is a popout window at the condition Asobo provides the following:

  • fix the FPS issue in popout windows
  • authorise the touch screen events in the html gauges.

I wonder if the entire flight plan management in MSFS2000 will be fixed and in the case, when.
No matter what GPS instrument you’re going to use (and this GTN is awesome). While flying if you change altitude constrictions, procedures, add waypoints or who knows what more, you’re sure to expect something strange. Active legs randomly choosen, new flight plan communicate to ATC, and so on…
Only the CJ4 seems to work fine, but in that case, Working Title had to rewrite anything.

Important bugs should be fixed in SU6.
Things are going better. Be patient.
Now the GTN is not compatible with WT Mods that provides there own flight plan manager and do not synchronize it to the SIM (ex CJ4 and G1000Nxi). Hope WT will fix that in the future.

Will the GTM750 come to Xbox? For use in the Carenado Arrow for example.

We must wait for Asobo to accept to deliver freeware on the marketplace.

The final map look for SU6:

Well you could still offer the lifetime licence version for the set fee - but I assume things like navigraph and METAR may not work correctly with XBox anyway?

THis is not a problem of license or technological issue with the GTN750 code itself.
The only issue is that you can’t access your community folder on XBox (as I know) so it’s not possible to install the GTN750 package.
The idea is to put the package on the marketplace so it can be installed on XBox. Then, users can stay with the free version or get the premium license on PMS50 site.
But, until now, Microsoft doesn’t accept our package to be put on the marketplace. They speak about a future possibility to have a dedicated freeware space on the marketplace. This is in the development roadmap for 2022 item 29:
