PMS50 GTN750 Project

??? What file is that

If you mean the pms50 Grand Caravan panel file, Iā€™ve had that installed since March and the GTN750 has been OK up to now.

The GTN750 has a fixed aspect ratio so it doesnā€™t fit in the G1000 MFD. This is not an issue but the normal behavior.

There is a fix for this at flightsim.to

Thatā€™s not the problem. I canā€™t get it to lock to the G1000, itā€™s constantly floating.

try with only the GTN750 mod and the official grand caravan package in your community folder. Nothing else (you can keep navigraph if you shown it).

That was how I was testing it but no luck. Thanks for trying to help but for now I am just operating it as a pop out on a second monitor the same as I do with the PMDG DC-6

GTN750 is not replacing the G1000 in the Carenado C182T. Donā€™t know if the
is is a new problem since I only added that package today. The in panel version works but the G1000 stays as a G1000. The replacement in other aircraft works as expected.

Hiya,

I have been using this now for a good month or so and absolutely loving it and so pleased with how regularly there are updates and quick the fixes come.

I was wondering if in future there will be the ability to add your own charts like you can waypoints now? I only use a few airports in enough detail and regularly enough so I just canā€™t justify the cost of Navigraph however would love to access the few charts I do have via the GTN750 even if needs a bit of file digging to do.

Cheers!

mmm had my first CTD today using the GTN750 in the JF Arrow V

Did a directTo an airport
Selected an approach
Whilst selecting different transitions to see which one I preferred the game locked up and then CTD

Try another livery. The 750 should work with the first and third one.

Could you give some more details? Which airport? whitch procedure? etcā€¦
Can your reproduce that issue?

It was YMEN RNAV RWY26
I was clicking through the 3 different transitions to see the flight paths

Iā€™ll fire up FS2020 this evening and see if itā€™s a reproduceable bug

ok I tried the same settings and airport but itā€™s not reproducible sorry
As a programmer myself I know how difficult that makes things!

Hey one question tho
I noticed that if you do a DirectTo airport you can then insert a Procedure and Transition!
You must have an airport departure to get it to work
Is that by design or a bug?

Yes, a direct TO is a direct to a waypoint. This waypoint is not considered as part of the flight plan.

Because of the way the sim manages the direct To and the approach loading, loading an approach will not work if you donā€™t have an origin and a destination in your flight plan. Thatā€™s why we discard this situation.
It is advised to always set an origin to your flight plan. Just set one if you donā€™t have one already before issuing your direct TO.
Weā€™ll add something in the documentation about that.

That solved it thanks. And thanks for your efforts to continue to update and improve this great addon.

Has anyone noticed that after flying aircraft using the G1000 NXI and loading an aircraft using the 750, the 750 is broken and can only be fixed by re-starting MSFS? This happens to me every time I change aircraft using the two units, not that that is very often. This may be a WT issue but itā€™s something to be aware of for 750 users.

If you fly a flight with one plane, and then want to do another flight with a different plane, restarting MSFS is not such a bad idea in any case , GTN750 / G1000 NXI issues or not.

Sure, in the past itā€™s been optional to just select another aircraft but now, for me, itā€™s mandatory. I should say that, until now, I havenā€™t had any issues changing default aircraft without re-booting MSFS. Even the DC6 loaded up ok after other MSFS default aircraft. For me itā€™s not much of an issue but itā€™s a heads up.
