Quick flight before work today and could be I didn’t have my bourbon glasses on but I agree does seem there is more to this latest update than just wu20! More testing on the weekend needed but I’m pretty sure is improved. Fingers crossed!

So.. they fixed ground textures and broke PG!? Will test but if so man oh man..

After Japan World Update 20, there is no change to the disaster that is Niagara Falls (I didn’t even bother starting the flight).

i deinstalled FS2020 when they released FS2024
i didnt touch the sim for 1 year because FS2024 is literally unplayable, so i will probably go back to FS2020 soon because the experience with the 2020 sim on xbox was quite fine the last time i played it.
do we know if they continue to support FS2020 with future SimUpdates? especially now when they plan to release the broken mess on playstation too

Yes confirmed, no improvement on ground or terrain lod.
Also not sure if just as of this update or as of su16 but reached the coast on my flight and the cliffs look like the pg examples after wu20 update above in this thread, being a vertical blur. I’m very certain I have never seen them like that with no detail at all. I tried on pc and Xbox, same on both so add it to the list of what Asobo have broken and will likely never fix. But on 2024 it didn’t look as bad (rest of the sim is still unappealing visually but heh at least the cliffs work!). I’m guessing it’s them aligning to 2024 terrain but without any qa or effort to check so the map is stretched now down over the terrain?
I swear at this point it seems like Jorg put all his team onto 2024 and on the PlayStation release and gave the intern under the stairs full authority of the 2020 sim!

I must admit, 2020 on Xbox performs very well now. One of the key criticisms raised with su16 is that instead of optimising the sim, is the impression they dumbed down lod and visuals for everyone to make Xbox run better.
Whatever the reason, they really have taken the enjoyment out of simming for me now so maybe I should take a year off too or go and spend my $ on xplane. Considering strongly the latter after another night that really hammered home the regression of the once gorgeous 2020.

These images of Niagra have been around on the forums since they messed it up and yet nothing but……crickets……chirping in the night……like listening to the falling snow from the development team. This is what I find the most disappointing. The regression we have to live with but the silence….i hope something good will happen soon

Just out of interest, what do Niagra Falls look like in ‘24 (I don’t have it otherwise I’d check myself). Since the sims share world data, supposedly, there should be the same mess in ‘24? No?

as of Nov 24 2020 was perfect which we all know and 2024 was screwed….with su16, they’ve brought the same terraforming issue to 2020 and i assume it still exists in 2024 till this day. So definitely looks like they’ve decided to streamline something somewhere and unfortunately we just are at their mercy now
Looking into this further and doing a little search on the good ole google interweb…there’s a developer that name begins with ‘tab’ has the letter ‘U’ in the middle then ‘Romeo echo tango’…well they’ve created a Niagara scenery and the vid on their site shows they’ve fixed the terraforming issues…..if ‘they’ can do it…well begs the question really doesn’t it.

Can anyone confirm this problem ?

Is it still like that for you? I had the same problem on Thursday. Nothing helped. I shut down MSFS, rebooted, but the broken PG buildings were still there. Yesterday, however - out of the blue - everything was fine again. That piece of software keeps me puzzled from time to time.
