In Steam, you have to enable it in 2 places.
1 - Click on Steam and go to settings - then click “In Game” and enable it there
2 - Go into your library, highlight MSFS 2024 and go to Properties and enable overlay in there too.

Thanks a lot for the help, that did the trick ![]()
Others have mentioned it but I think the piece of the process that Jorg really should have discussed more is the WASM check for new aircraft. Sure, they removed all the testing on the Microsoft side, but its clear that any aircraft that uses WASM (which is all the ones we are speaking about being delayed) still has some sort of forced verification process going on thats causing extensive delays and issues.
Why can Blacksquare push updates to 2020 marketplace, which then somehow flow through to my version in 2024, yet they can’t even list their aircraft in the native 2024 marketplace? There is something in the 2024 marketplace process that is still a real problem, to me at least Jorg hinted that it’s whatever is going on with the WASM ingestion. A2A has noted on their discord they struggled with even getting access
Whilst this would be a welcome practice can you really see Microsoft implementing this. If they did it would just take another reason away for why some still buy from the MP.
“Freeware” has always been a filter option for the very limited number of first-party offerings (World Updates, City Updates, and a handful of default aircraft “enhancement” packages mostly) but with the release of the A340 liveries (a fully third-party product) as free (for the first week on the Marketplace) it makes one wonder if true Freeware Marketplace content may be being tested and seriously considered (and not just discussed).
But should we pay for freeware on the MP? Maybe because it’s “top freeware”? ![]()
Err that would be no. It’s not freeware if it’s paid for. The clue is in the name. ![]()
You didn’t look at my screenshot, did you?
Was replying to your previous comment which didn’t have that context so no I didn’t. I see now after scrolling up a bit that there are already paid items being categorised as payware in the MP. They have to fix that surely.
I’ve never really looked for freeware on the Marketplace. Other than Asobo/MS stuff, is there a lot of new actual freeware making its way on there? I know we had the WT GPS units for example, which have been on there for years, but I’m thinking freeware airports.
A lot of freeware. But not cheap, really. Look at my screenshot.

I mean legit no cost freeware, rather than the result of an incorrectly crafted filter.
Freeware is free, no money is involved, those are not freeware, it’s just a poorly made filter that puts payed items into a free category.
Perhaps Microsoft trying to say, “Nothing is free”
Haha, not even freeware.
If you want to see freeware, set the max price to £1 or whatever your minimal local currency is. Or indeed “Free Only”, it seems.
It looks like their category from the main MP menu for free items is incorrect.
Incidentally it looks like they fixed the ability to remember set filters. I changed the price to a max of £31, and the creator to be only //42. I went back to the main menu, and then came back to the Marketplace, and the filters remained set.
So yes, you can filter out certain creators now. Not sure yet whether it survives a restart of the sim. Removed one, and I saw 262 creators not 263.
Yep, had a bug report open for this but it looks resolved now - this actually changed during 1.6.13.0, I believe it was a server-side fix.
