In my Community directory, I always use(d) a file name starting with “@” for third-party SCENERY and starting with “$” for third party aircraft.
I removed these two characters from the file names, and for now, all items from the community directory start up without any problems when “registering Packages.”
This includes all third-party Scenery and Aircraft.
There is no underlying theory, it was just an experiment.
Do these two characters cause problems for vcruntime140.dll?
Is it possible that this caracters are not alowed in vcruntimexx.dll
I was curious also, but they’ve recently posted the update notes. One of the fixes was for CTD’s that occurred when going from marketplace “notifications” to “mylibrary”.
I think I had one of those before this update, but I just ignored it - assuming “operator headspace”.
I just got another update, about 2 gigs. Now when I start a flight I cannot move around the aircraft to remove tiedowns, covers, etc.. Sim is completely useless now. PC
If that is the case, they should inform us about it. Now it is driving me crazy, spending a lot of time trying to find the problem. I had a fine working sim!
I just flew Ganolulu- LA, and noticed something interesting. When I took off from Honolulu, which I did in VR (Crystal super), the image was generally good, there were no strong friezes, since I use fairly high graphics settings, fps jumps from 40 to 50 suit me quite well. And when I reached the flight level, I switched to the 5120x1440 monitor and noticed that the fps began to drop rapidly, first 40fps, and then 34, I thought it might be because of the acceleration of the flight simulation and set x1, but the fps was gone. At the same time, I was flying over the ocean, where, in principle, there is nothing but clouds. I decided to speed up the flight in my career to x4, and half an hour later I see the fps rise to 53 (TAA, frame generation disabled, VR headset disabled), and it was over the mainland, where there are many objects on the ground (tlod 250) Switching to VR, I got good smoothness, but when panning, I felt hovering and fps drawdowns. I’m attaching a graph, I don’t know how much it can help, but still.
SU3 was working very well for me.
I fired up the sim after a few weeks off, knowing SU4 was soon to be released.
I disabled nVidia Shader Cache, booted into Windows Safe Mode and cleaned DX and GL Cache folders, deleted Rolling Cache, and ran ‘Disk Cleanup’.
The sim updated to 1.6.33.0
I restored Rolling Cache to 128GB on D:\Rolling Cache (fast SSD.)
I renabled nVidia Shader Cache (100GB)
I left my AOL24 links active - 57 objects linked to Community.
Later in the day I restarted the sim and it automatically updated to 1.6.34.0
Horrible stuttering - both audio and video.
This test is after I changed AOL24 to only link the Bonanza Pro and the PMS50 GTN750.
I cleaned all the caches again (including Rolling Cache) and kept trying.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to resolve this. These are all things that have made my system very smooth and crash-free in SU3.
ISLC on/off (Default ON, with HPT disabled)
Lasso on/off (Default ON, with the sim assigned to CCD0)
Park Control (Default is Disabled)
Windows Game Mode on/off (Default OFF)
Power Plan - Bitsum Highest / Balanced (Default Bitsum Highest)
I’m running out of ideas.
Next step is to update the BIOS to 3.50 from 3.40, rerun the current chipset driver installer, update bluetooth and audio drivers. After that, I’m going to uninstall the nVidia App.
Last thing will be to try ethernet. But WiFi 7 has been working so well. Current speedtest shows 884 Mbps down. Should be plenty…
Kinda bummed after a year of updates to still see my gauges unloading and then slowly being streamed in again after I’ve already downloaded them multiple times in multiple sessions. I don’t have access to the fastest internet here, but I do have a lot of RAM (64gb system and 24gb video), so this shouldn’t be a thing.
@Shrodingor I agree. Running very good now in free flight.
Edit. After more time and moving from the CitationX which was pretty good into the A320v2, performance is stuttery at times around KLAX and DD KEWR. Have to use frame gen for a smoother experience at the larger metro airports. VRAM usage has decreased substantially. Perhaps too substantially. 9800x3d and 5070ti.
I have seen it before mainly on betas. What I think it is, although I haven’t gone into it in any detail - I don’t really care about the logbook, is that the saved logbook from the cloud is being copied back BEFORE an updated logbook gets copied out.
On xbox x su4 is very good but i don’t have toolbar on screen and I don’t have replay function. If somebody know where is a toolbar and replay function?
Good Morning….I’ve noticed a problem with the illumination of the keypad labels of the B787. The title APU is missing in the APU STARTER quadrant on the overhead also. The Fire Tests and the annunciator lights tests are still not operative. However I love the B787 it is growing and growing. It is my preferred aircraft. Many thanks for the huge work. Please fix the above listed items ASAP.
I get the same blurry panel/instrument textures just from briefly switching views, sometimes. It can take half a second up to 10 seconds for them to return! I have 32GB RAM and 16GB video memory.
I don’t think it matters how much you have, 2024 just likes to dump everything for performance gains and it’s one of many reasons I haven’t moved from 2020 yet.
SU4 seems OK on the whole but VR performance for me is a bit mixed (whereas 2020 is steady) and the streamed nature causes a lot of stutters. So long as I get 30+ FPS (2D or VR) I don’t really worry, but huge stutters and graphical anomalies are just too jarring to put up with in 2024.
