[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 6 Feedback (PC/Xbox/PS5)

Why is that? Not really necessary. If there is newer data on the server than in the cache, it will be replaced. That’s what a cache does.

Unless there is some rare corruption you don’t really ever need to clear the cache.

What does “support of DLSS 4.5” mean? Does that mean that I have to update some setting in the NVidia app? Or what do I have to do to enable it? And, once enabled, what improvements should I expect?

All polls in the OP are now open for voting!

Again, for the 3rd time in a row, this does not feel like a sim update at all.

It’s a patch. It’s a patch with so many things I don’t care about (speed of subtitles in career mode?!)

It’s a patch that hasn’t touched so many of the things I would like to see fixed.

And it absolutely does not feel like core aspects of the sim have been updated. AGAIN.

spawned in at my home airport EDDC to see some lightposts. But none are there. This was the only thing I was interested in SU6, lol. So still no night flying for me in msfs24. Standard Airports and weather is so bad. They need 2 sim updates to only focus on this.

This is the worst.
Large passenger aircraft were usable without any problems in Career Mode.
However, they can no longer be used in SU6. It feels like we’ve gone back to the early days of SU5.
I’m disappointed.

The photo below shows the 737 MAX on PS5.

The PS5 right stick scroll is still broken on this new version of SU6 even though it was working perfectly on the SU6 beta. This has now not been working on the public release since SU5 was released on PlayStation.

Somethings wrong with AMD FSR FG? I am getting msgs about it but can’t test it now (health issues) I am trying to help elderly people on our region. Edit: They figured it out. No idea how Adrenaline works but some settings were forcing fsr fg 4 it seems. Anyways i hope amd and devs can fix it on next beta/release.
edit2: If anyone else also confused, these are current default dll versions after SU6 installation for Nvidia Dlss/fg, Amd Fsr

Summary

If you haven’t changed your settings in the NVidia app to take advantage of new performance options (depending on your machine) that come from the DLSS updates, (even before 4.5) then yes there are things to change that can benefit you.

There are a number of YouTube videos on the subject - just google YouTube+Msfs+dlss+performance. It’s pretty easy to both get info and make the changes.

PSVR 2 while flying without touching any buttons will cut to the pause screen, and when I go back to resume, my gear is down.

POI lighting excessively bright. This looks to be the same issue reported in March 2025 which was resolved has now returned.

Tree polygons i placed in my airports are now gone, as i reported this issue in the beta.

Again no mention of the big changes made to the bell 407 in the change log. The secrecy surrounding the bell 407 project exceeds that of Area 51, LOL.

set the HOTAS 5 in HOTAS 4 Mode, than it works,… they broke the HOTAS 5 Mode with SU6…

I second that… POIs have massive lightning since SU6.

Two samples here, at “Le Pic-du-Midi” in France and at “Le Barrage d’Émosson” in Switzerland.

So far so good for me so far on Xbox series X. Mostly flying the PMDG 737 around Europe. Very smooth performance and less stutters at demanding airports. Getting very close to 2020 performance now which makes me very happy indeed. Looking forward to testing more tonight and tomorrow before my holiday on Sunday.

Short Technical Statement for SU6 Feedback

MSFS needs built‑in internal diagnostic controls.
Not external tools, not user‑side debugging. A simulator of this scale should
have subsystem checks, terrain/LOD validation and streaming integrity
monitoring.

The Python example I posted is not the goal — it only shows that
lightweight, modular control logic is perfectly feasible .

Right now MSFS lacks any internal quality‑control layer, which leads to
unpredictable rendering failures, terrain stalls, inconsistent airport behavior
and meaningless warnings like “graphics too high .”

A real quality improvement is only possible if MSFS adds native
diagnostic and verification mechanisms
inside the engine.

I hate to break it to you but there hasn’t been any of that since 2020 was released.

Thanks Marc — exactly my point.
The fact that MSFS never had an internal diagnostic layer is precisely why the simulator keeps running into unpredictable rendering issues, terrain stalls and inconsistent behavior.

It’s not about blaming the past — it’s about showing that lightweight subsystem checks are technically feasible and that MSFS would benefit massively from implementing them natively.

Exactly — and that’s why MSFS needs to add an internal diagnostic layer now.
Without subsystem checks and terrain/LOD validation, the simulator will always rely on user‑side debugging and guesswork.

The point isn’t that it never existed — the point is that MSFS needs it today to improve stability and consistency.
