The release announcement says both 2020 and 2024. I’ll check with the team to confirm that this is indeed correct.
World Update 20 features immersive missions for both Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 that wonderfully showcase the areas highlighted in this release: three discovery flights, three landing challenges, one bush trip, and one spotlight event.
- The discovery flights include: Chubu-Sangaku National Park, a renowned region of towering peaks and lush forests on the island of Honshū; Kyoto, one of the oldest cities in Japan; and Sapporo, the largest city on the island of Hokkaido.
- Test your piloting skills at Ōmura Airport (RJFU) in a strong wind challenge; Rishiri Airport (RJER) in a famous challenge; and at Sado Airport (RJSD) in a famous challenge.
- Visit Japan’s most famous mountains in the Mount Fuji to Mount Yōtei bush trip.
- Take a discovery flight around the Makuhari Messe complex at the edge of Tokyo Bay in the spotlight event.

Is there a reason we have to go to the marketplace and get these world updates versus the updates just being automatically streamed in?
Because some people don’t want them.
I’ve ran into many who don’t install them because of performance issues, or they only fly in one region of the world and don’t care about anything outside of it.

Hello @MissoulaMtnMan,
Some players would prefer not to install the World Updates, for example if they already have payware scenery for some of the included areas. For that reason, we always make World and City Updates optional downloads from the Marketplace rather than automatic installs for all simmers.

No. They don’t know how to improve this process.
I get the same question mark every time something “new” is released.
- Go to Marketplace
- Click World.
- The Second section is World Update. Click “See All”.
- Select the one(s) you are missing (Does not say “Installed” at the top), i.e. World Update 20
Now, you may need to go to Content Manager (follow link from Marketplace) and/or install them from the Not Installed section.
It is a bunch of hoops to jump through, as always.

Oh, and don’t forget. You MUST clear/reset Rolling Cache to prevent stutter. It’s another thing they don’t know how to “fix because it isn’t broken”.

Maybe just a pop-up when a new WU is released to ask if we want to stream/install it or not would be easier for everyone, especialy for new users
Same at first installation of the game, asking if we want to enable or disable all WU/CU.

RJER Rishiri Airport loads in correctly but on the world map it doesn’t have that Star normally associated with an addon.
Is anyone else missing building lighting on the tall buildings in Tokyo at night? The trailer showed them lit up but mine are not

Do you have the Tokyo Landmarks addon from Samscene3d installed?
No I don’t.
I see discovery flights for Chubu-Sangaku National Park, Kyoto, and Sapporo in 2024 but not the bush trip. I also don’t see the Makuhari Messe complex spotlight event in 2024. If they are in 2024 then I’d love to know how to find them.
Are you on SU4beta? It’s a known bug of the current beta.

I kind of agree. It’s not totally intuitive. I just searched for “World Update” in the Marketplace and it popped right up!

Sorry for late reaction but yes that were i see it after downloading and played it during taxiing in the night, so restarted again in daytime found myself in the hole and was thinking , but how?
Then i remember my find in niagara falls scenery and tried it.
No landing challenges on my side, i’m on SU4 BETA
